GMZ 07-28-2009 08:48 PM

This should be good

edeeZee 07-28-2009 09:00 PM

Awwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhh shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeett! If this does come about, the final nail will be hammered in the coffin to see if Fedor is absolutely the best!

Pride v. UFC will be squashed once and for all.

molamann 07-28-2009 09:28 PM

Uh oh

M-1 Global says Fedor, UFC not close to a deal - SI.com - Mixed Martial Arts

edeeZee 07-29-2009 12:09 AM

too good to be true. I think Fedor is the 21st cent. Rickson.

sloterg 07-29-2009 10:07 AM

either way in my opinion brock would handle, it would be a great fight nonetheless

edeeZee 07-29-2009 04:37 PM

Brock would get pwned by Fedor.

Anyway, M-1, the Russian MMA promo wants UFC to partner up if Fedor is going to fight in a UFC event. I'd tell them politely to take a hike. It took years of blood, sweat and tears for UFC to get where it is now; and M-1, a relatively obscure promo, is trying ride UFC's coattail. M-1 thinks that Fedor's participation is going to make or break it for UFC...yeah right. Nobody is dumb enough to dilute what they've already built up as successful, and then, to let some no-name entity try to experience the success they didn't contribute to. This is the classic case of no-name, obscure gold-digger meets rich, famous guy and tries to take him for a ride a la Anna Nicole Smith.

i agree with you... I have seen Fedor fights and a although the man can take a beating that's for sure.. brock is a mountain. its like going up to Mount Everest and trying to kick its ***.

Pride has different rules compared to UFC.
I think that Fedor is afraid of losing his rep. as the #1 Fighter in the world.
UFC allows the elbows and kness while Pride does not.
He's going to have to re-set his fighting style and learn how to adapt to using the elbows and knees before he signs those papers.

Yes, cage and the ring has its differences(Pride did allow knees, they even allowed soccer kicks...) but that's not the main reason why Fedor is not signing with the UFC. UFC likes to have very exclusive rights to their fighters meaning they can't fight anywhere else(even national Sambo tournaments where Fedor has been attending every year,) nor endorse products without the consent of the UFC. $5mil per fight might sound like a big deal but Fedor is worth a lot more than that, not to mention half the UFC fighters are underpaid.

@Chupacabra
Only way Fedor will lose is if he gets caught.

Chupacabra 07-31-2009 07:00 PM

molamann, I agree completely. and that is why i say that. I believe in fedors ability and the man can take a beating. but brock is made of rock, he dude just does not seem to get hurt, and for his size he is quick as hell..

i guess some day we will find out.

sloterg 07-31-2009 07:14 PM

haha ever since the first fight i knew brock was done losing.. ive been following brock through out his ufc career, although short, since the begining i been rooting for him, and never once has he let me down. that first fight with frank mir was a loss becuz he got confident too fast, and ever since that first fight hes learned what not to do. right now IMO no one can stand in brock lesnar's way, plain and simple.

M-1 hates me. They hate us all. What else would explain this?
