shumby 07-24-2009 10:27 AM

you know a real mans sport.

nogoodname 07-24-2009 10:31 AM

here to back you up Shum..lol

Florida_GATOR 07-24-2009 10:40 AM

Its alright, i cant take both of you ;) is hockey even a sport?

nogoodname 07-24-2009 10:41 AM

not only is it a sport, it involves thinking too

unlike like football you speak of

Florida_GATOR 07-24-2009 10:49 AM

haha, truthfully, games aside...i think football took more thinking than any classes i took in highschool. And i took AP college classes too. If you play QB like me u have a appreciation for the sport...because you have to think of so much so fast and you have to study each game so intensely that if u let up it just means ur going to make a bad play on the field.

Hockey?? how in the hell did we get Hockey in a college football thread?? :icon17::icon17::icon17:

I don't know if he'll go, but if Coach Cheeseburger at Notre Dame doesn't produce this year I bet ND shows Urban the bottom line on that $9B endowment. If I am Urban I stay at Florida where you have everything you need to win consistently. I would not even think about leaving UF. But who knows what a coach will do? Notre Dame could pay him anything and because they are a private University they do not have to disclose his salary. That being said I bet ND wins just enough to not fire him. this year.

Urbans staying in gainesville, ive heard him say it to my face lol. Ive been to there house a few times to visit his daughter nikki whenever we played GHS and i watched a re-run of the UF-OSU basketball championship game and he told me he wouldnt trade Florida for any job. Google his daughter tho, ive had a crush on her ever since they came from Utah, shes so beautiful! Urban can also cook the best sausage dog ive ever tasted too

hide187 you are even more displaced than I am. Right there in enemy territory. Being in Orlando can be brutal when LSU loses to the gators, but its all in fun until I punch somebody in the face. LOL.

Terrelle did look against Texas. How did you guys lose that game?? That last drive was a heartbreaker for OSU. I admit I am one of those who has been down on the Big Ten. I would like to see Ohio State beat USC though. What you think about that game?

gatorfast 07-24-2009 01:38 PM

Anything less than a national championship for the gators this year is a huge disappointment. Besides the ole miss game last year, every regular season win was by 21+ points! Not to mention beating bama then oklahoma, both ranked #1 at the time, by double digits each to close the season.

Our depth on defense, particularly the secondary is INSANE. Lots of 2nd and 3rd string guys that would be starters elsewhere. Only real question mark is WR. Lots of talent there but no one has proved anything yet.

Losing Harvin is huge though. Reggie Bush is the only other player I can think of in recent memory where I couldnt wait to see what he would do every time he touched the ball. The dude was just insanely athletic/strong/quick and players like that dont come along very often. But with that said, Ive seen Rainey put some nasty moves on defenders and him along with Demps and Moody should be a very solid backfield.

I cant wait to see what Andre Debose can do. A lot of hype for him coming into the season. Ive seen his highlight reels and he definitely has some Harvin qualities about him.

As far as the rest of the college football landscape... the other favorite to make it to pasedena appears to be the winner of texas/okla. Both will no doubt be solid teams but I think an SEC champion would beat either. USC lost a ton from last year but they have plenty of talent to fill the void. I would be surprised if they didnt win 10 games. Big 10, lol they got nothing. ACC/big east, see big 10 comments. I think LSU will be really solid this year. They have had some great recruiting classes and finished strong last year. I think ole miss will be grossly overrated. They blew up in popularity after beating florida last year but when you are in the same division as lsu and bama its no cakewalk.

Wow I guess thats enough for now. Only 40 something days until kickoff!

Oh Yeah, i have seen pictures of his daughter. You are not exaggerating at all!! Gorgeous young lady.:tup:

I don't blame him. I wouldn't leave UF either.

43 days 7 hours 22 minutes.... but whos counting??

Florida_GATOR 07-24-2009 02:17 PM

Yea and just think, ive seen her in a bathing suit  lol, but i dont see WR being a problem, i got burned by Debose when they came to Lake City and destroyed us, hes sooo dangerous...hes gonna be a clone of percy. I think out biggest issue is the O line..we lost a lot of good guys, but added some good 5star talent there too. And if LSU beats UF, i challenge you to a octagon match Turbo ;)
