Cheifs cut Matt Cassel and Kevin Kolb is expected to be released by the Cardinals. Leon Washington will be visiting with Patriots.

when I saw the name leon. I immediately thought Leon Sandcastle. lol! an honest mistake.

Looks like Welker wanted to stay, but Patriots didn't really want him. :shakes head:

I hate how they went about this because Welker seems like a real stand up guy.. one of the few hard nose receivers that are worth their weight in gold yet don't act like it. That said, I like the strategy behind the Patriots move, grabbing Amendola (spellcheck?) is a brilliant move. He was amazing last year on a garbage team and I think will fit in very well with Brady and company.

I expect Welker to make the Patriots pay in the short term though, Denver's receiver core is going to be a nightmare this year for defenses.

Yeah I was a big Welker fan and sad to see him go. He also is one of those guys that will always burn the old team when he plays against them. Always did that to Miami when we played them. Not like our defense is good either so it shouldn't be too hard :roflpuke2:

If Amendola can stay healthy (which is a big IF) then I think he will do great with Tom Brady throwing him the ball instead of Sam Bradford.

yea Brady is reported to be Pi**ed. Welker was his main man, his go to guy, a person they needed and here they let him walk.

hey we (the ravens) suffered big time in free agency....with losing our top offensive weapon... I feel the same pain here.

with Brady at the helm and welker, it was like NE thought "eh...... its ok our D is sub par....... our offense can handle the load, we got Brady, welker and crew. :bowrofl:

offensive attack is what I saw NE gearing MORE towards year after year
