If you're looking for a moral rolemodel in the NFL good luck. Not saying ray lewis is some kind of saint but NFL players aren't saints, to put it lightly.

I hope they utilize the west cost system instead of what ever tice/martz kept trying. Forte was almost non existant this year and still got over 1k yards rushing, as for Marsh I know he is one of the best but they need to get some other guys to step up such as Alshon.

per the Baltimore sun...... if Baltimore Ravens Cut Boldin... he will retire, he is quoted as saying " I don't want to play for another team, I want to play for Baltimore" real admirable of him I must say...

How the hell did Cary Williams not get fined for pushing a ref in the Super Bowl. He was lucky enough to not get ejected after that.

So looks like the Vikings might be trying to trade Percy Harvin. I think Pats might go after him if they don't reach a deal with Welker.

before the playoffs even began ... Teams were lining up to try and "steal" flacco away from the Ravens, and that was him only being an "average" quarterback.

I have to believe it was because the refs did not call a penalty on the 49er who ripped Williams' helmet off while he was laying on the ground. He was just getting up going after the guy, and the ref got in the way. I think the extracurricular activity after that play warranted more than two single, offsetting, personal fouls, but I think the refs did a great job of not letting it get out of hand, so I have no problems with how they called the game (minus a few missed calls).

That's because he was still better than all the below "average" QB's :icon17:

Belichik got fined for grabbing a replacement ref's arm after a game and nothing for the player who just straight up pushed a ref. :stirthepot:

Belichek was attempting to confront the ref directly (and a replacement ref I might add, at very controversial time in NFL refereeing). Williams wasn't going after the ref. It could have been the opponent's teammate, his own teammate, a coach or a ref - the guy in his way was gonna get shoved after what happened to him. Did you see how long it took to calm him down? After I saw a replay that showed his helmet getting ripped off, I said, "ooooohhhhhhh... I get it now - he's pissed" lol

Doesn't matter, the fact is he still pushed a ref. I've seen players ejected for much less contact with officials.

Vick signed a 1 year deal worth 10m with the Uggles. So that means he'll get what...2mil for every game he actually plays?

b1adesofcha0s 02-11-2013 03:35 PM

Important point, it's $10M max if he reaches all incentives. He's most likely not gonna reach all those if past history is any evidence. I'd guess he ends up getting half that much, maybe even less.

JARblue 02-11-2013 03:35 PM

The only explanation I can come up with is that Williams was not in direct confrontation with the official. Come up with an example where a guy bumps or shoves a ref inadvertently while in a confrontation with another player, and you have a good comparison. I actually just watched a video of a scuffle between two linemen where the ref got knocked to ground pretty violently and neither of the two men were ejected (though they were both given 15 yd unsportsmanlike pentalties). It was a game between the Bengals and Browns but the video didn't have the year or anything.

Stokely ran 30 yards down the field to scream at the official - you can bet they were looking for every excuse to throw him out of the game. They don't like to be shown up like that.

lol @ all the Vick comments

dmhenderson 02-11-2013 03:36 PM

Who was that former Oregon QB they were talking about bringing in? Maybe Vick can teach him how to beat pitbulls to death run a pro-style offense.

"...The Super Bowl participants, the Ravens and 49ers are pretty flush against the cap. Baltimore is likely to let free agents Paul Kruger and Cary Williams walk, sources said, while focusing on new deals for quarterback Joe Flacco, linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and safety Ed Reed (signing all three, however, may not be possible). ..."
