Bucs have made an offer to the Jets for Revis.

Patriots have received offers from Browns and Bucs to trade for backup QB Ryan Mallet. Previous rumors suggested that the Pats will look to sign Matt Cassel if they trade Mallet.

Hey Matt Cassell. Sorry about kicking you to the curb and all.

Ravens add Chris Canty

Aaron Wilson ‏@RavensInsider

Chris Canty is a big five-technique defensive lineman, only 30 years old. 6-7, 317 pounds. This should help the defense a lot.

I honestly don't see the Jets willing to deal revis unless they get some kind of blockbuster deal :ugh2:

The Jets are stupid, they would do exactly that! For Revis I think they'd do it for 2 1st round picks. At the minimum, probably a 1st and a 2nd.

I'll be right honest, Mark. I've been fearing a Ravens rebuilding season for years now. They've gotten old and expensive. But somehow, every year, Ozzie got rid of a few expensive vets and backfilled those positions ably and got some guys to re-sign, even re-structure for less. Now that the championship was won, nobody wanted to take a smaller deal. They absolutely had to sign Flacco, given how bad it looked when they cut loose Dilfer after XXXV. But they weren't going to be keeping all the pieces of this puzzle. And I'm pretty sure these guys are all being offered more than they're worth to go elsewhere.

So, if rebuilding is on us at long last, at least the Ravens got a Super Bowl out of it.

If they had franchised Flacco, they could have paid him less plus make him look like the bad guy if he held out. Just sayin'

Nope. With Flacco's new deal, his cap hit is only like $7M for this year. If they franchised him, it would have been easily double that amount and they'd have to cut more people.

He will have more of a hit against the cap later years, but they are hoping the cap goes up each year.

still its ridiculously too much.

couldnt afford bolding for 2 mil more.. thats stupid IMO.

Yeah that and they'll probably restructure it like every other team does. Agreed about Boldin. 6th round pick is a steal for him.
