UFC: TUF Season 10 just got interesting

rashad evans and rampage coaching heavyweights with kimbo slice as a cast member

show airs sept 16th.. i'm actually gonna watch this

CBRich 06-03-2009 11:34 AM

Rampage and Rashad both like to talk a lot but they can both back it up. And I'm calling it right now. Kimbo out after first fight. Just watch.

molamann 06-03-2009 12:58 PM

How can you guys watch this show? The show's pretty much consisted of 10% of actual training footage and 90% fraternity drama. :/

i'll take you up on that. hear me out though :icon17:

i followed the entire kimbo drama and after everything that happened i still give the guy some credit. alot of people hate on him but i dont think its warranted. the blame should be on eliteXC's promoters. they took this guy out of nowhere and offered him big bucks and put him as the headliner of their entire organization. if you were kimbo you wouldnt say no, he jumped at the oppertunity like anyone would. with that said the guy seemed to train hard and was never some fake character he was pretty professional and humble the whole time. it wasnt his fault he was promoted as zeus from the movie no holds barred with hulk hogan. they put someone in front of him and he fought.

then he got caught by a C list 205er who had some basic skills under strange circumstances... so the guy is rookie and he is fairly one dimensional but i see him on the an even playing field or even having a small advantage over some of the other TUF guy hell 4 of the competitors this season are ex NFL players..... they never were trained by bas rutten and they never fought primetime MMA in front of one of the largest audiences....all im saying i say he will go further into it than you think against TUF competitors... as far as UFC thats another thing. but i would like him to succeed enough to where he might get one actual fight under UFC

i would love to see kimbo vs shane carwin

CBRich 06-03-2009 02:28 PM

I dont' disagree that he was thrown into terrible circumstances that he just couldn't live up to. And he has trained with some great people such as Bas, but I still don't think he's as good as most amateur fighters. He's just your typical big guy with heavy hands and no cardio. I'd bet I can find a few guys at the local jits gym that could beat him.

All In Good Fun

molamann 06-03-2009 02:33 PM

Now that I really think about, I don't have nothing personal against Kimbo. His promoters/managers set him for a colossal failure and the fact that my friends/co-workers who've all been introduced to the MMA scene through TUF have been praising him and still does.

AARC51 06-04-2009 09:44 AM

What happened to Kimbo was 100% his fault. He over-hyped himself, tried to get rich quick and got beat down by guy with pink hair in the process. Now he's going to get beat down in the fight to actually get on the show.

Tried to get rich quick? He got 1/2 a million dollars for 14 secs of work in that fight!

500k goes fast when you drive gold plated H2's.

CrownR426 06-22-2009 09:27 PM

Don't get me wrong but I think Kimbo Slice is a beast.
Just give him a little time and he'll be up there.
Don't make me regret these words Kimbo!

CBRich 06-23-2009 08:34 AM

You need to remember that Kimbo is not some young up and comer. The man is 35. His physical abilities are heading the exact opposite direction of where he's trying to go. It just won't happen.

MC 07-26-2009 01:25 AM

anyone seen this vid of rampage talking **** to king mo?

all started after King mo calls him bumpage

I'm all over this one

CBRich 07-26-2009 09:42 AM

King Mo would be smart to stay quiet until he has really accomplished something. I would guess that Rampage is on a completely different level.

Billy02987 07-28-2009 11:13 AM

I agree with CBRICH, kimbo is already out of his prime and I just dont see him lasting long. Maybe on the show he'll do alright because it's a bunch of amature fighters, but I dont think he could beat a single heavyweight in the UFC. I don't even think he could beat the light heavyweights in UFC.

CBRich 07-28-2009 02:02 PM

Rumors are everywhere that Kimbo gets knocked out by Wes Sims in his first fight. You heard it here first.

MC 09-22-2009 08:51 PM

Rampage quits UFC and MMA

The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract & they saved my life, so I felt loyal to them. They pushed me into a fight with Chuck Liddel even when I clearly stated I wasn't ready to fight for the belt because the American fans didn't know me but I took the fight and didn't complain & after I won the American fans booed me for the first time which changed the way I saw them & it hurt me deeply.

Then before I can even get out of the cage they announced that I was fighting Dan Henderson without even asking me. After I beat Dan Henderson, I made history in becoming the first undisputed champion in MMA but was never even given the pride belt in the cage & I was never promoted as the undisputed champ. Later Anderson Silva was.

Then they had me coach TUF season 7 and fight Forrest and the fight was very controversial & normally when a fight is that close & controversial there is normally an instant replay. I can name a couple of instances. Instead they offered me the Vanderlei Silva fight which I gladly accepted even though I know it was a very risky fight for me to take because of all the drama that was happening to me at the time. I fought that fight with a jaw injury and then a couple weeks later Dana called me and asked me to fight Rashad. For the first time I said no, I didn't want to fight because it was such short notice & I wouldn't have had a long break between camp. Dana talked me into fighting Rashad anyway but Rashad refused the fight and so I had to fight Jardine as a favor to the UFC instead of getting my belt back (which wasn't even worth it to me financially).

Then I reinjured my jaw in the fight with Vanderlei & Jardine. Frank Mir gets hurt so they wanted to switch my fight from UFC 100 to the fight Frank couldn't make it to but I couldn't fight cause I needed jaw surgury. So they give Machida the fight against Rashad & they told me they want me to coach TUF season 10 against Rashad. That's why I wanted Rashad to win so bad but when Rashad got knocked out I told them I wanted to fight Machida for the belt but Dana told me if I coach TUF against Rashad that I could fight Machida afterwards cause this was a different type of ultimate fighter show they were doing. After I signed the contract Dana then changes his mind & says I have to fight Rashad & even told me what to say in the press & so my fans think I was scared to fight Machida. After all that I still never complained & I did it all.

Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an alcohalic & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet & said some ******** & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I'm not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting. I've been getting negative reviews from the dumb *** fans that don't pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. & all you hater fans out there can kiss my big black hairy ***! & anybody that don't like what I just said can come try to kick my ***!

I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn't respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!

molamann 09-22-2009 09:21 PM

Not a big Rampage fan but I'm with him on this since I hate Dana. This isn't the first time a fighter left the UFC from a dispute with Dana and I assure you Dana is going to somehow get the fans to turn on Rampage. Most MMA fans are UFC fanboys and they'll just gobble up whatever Dana says.

MC, someone posted the same thing on Sherdog as well. I highly doubt Rampage is gonna quit MMA. Sports stars turned movie stars don't suceed.

yeah i mean i dont think he is done forever... but i dont think youll see him for a year maybe. its also positioning for when he does return.

suck we wont see the TUF 10 coaches fight in december

CBRich 09-23-2009 01:53 PM

There's always two sides to a story but the bottom line is that if Rampage is not contractually obligated to fight again then he doesn't have to. He should make the choices that are best for him and his family.

molamann 09-23-2009 09:31 PM

Sigh, CroCop also calls it quits.

So who you got? If nelson can get him on the ground, I think kimbo will be done. But if kimbo can keep it standing, he's gonna knock roy's block off.

MC 09-23-2009 10:20 PM

i got kimbo... unless you already found out who won or something???

kimbo would have beat down either one of the guys tonight. that fight was pitiful

lol, no.
I give kimbo the odds, unless nelson manages to pin him, which will be tough (but certainly possible).

frost 09-23-2009 10:24 PM

PS, that fight was indeed pretty sad. Like watching obese dudes in a jazzercise class.

CrownR426 09-23-2009 10:26 PM

They are replaying the episode again lol!
I wasn't even paying attention to the actual fight cause it got boring...
Cannot wait for next week.
Hopefully Kimbo doesn't let Rampage down.

MC 09-28-2009 05:13 PM

i doubt they would show the KO shot on the previews?

what do you think?

I think Kimbo is going to rock him.

MC 09-30-2009 10:02 PM

**** !

although he slipped up in an interview and said he was fighting for UFC in December.. not sure if he gets back on the show and makes it to the finals or if he is gonna fight in UFC 107

fairladyZ34 09-30-2009 10:08 PM

well kimbo literally just lost his first Ultimate fighter fight against roy nelson so..........

frost 09-30-2009 10:23 PM

Terrible fight. Roy may have won, but there was nothing to be proud of imho.

Zerafian 10-01-2009 09:38 AM

Was an awful fight...why the ref stopped it I'll never know. But since the big flower loving black man has a break down in the next episode Kimbo will be back....but for what purpose I'll never know. The way he lost that fight was pathetic. I honestly expected Kimbo to come out with some big swings and knock is fat *** to the ground.

sylenze 10-01-2009 09:49 AM

he did have big swings... just that roy is good at taking u down... and that belly man... that belly... my opinion is the only way he could have one that is if he continued taking out roy's legs... i dont know how strong kimbo's sheens are but... the better game plan would have been circle him around and then kick his lead foot... with all that weight... after 10 solid kicks... he'll have a hard time even standing up...

MC 10-02-2009 10:07 PM

check this out guys

looks like TUF accidentally gave something interesting away with an editing error on the show last week.

this makes sense to me hearing what roy said was past tense

plus kimbo already said he is fighting in december.. maybe the reason why UFC is still promoting kimbo on the show is he comes back after this loss and makes it to the finals... they already showed marcus jones hurt.... him loosing then coming back and winning makes for a good drama

i just read my man kimbo might be fighting my man houston alexander at TUF finale.... if you want to see someone get KTFO this is pretty much a dream match...im torn though im not sure who to pull for houston needs a UFC win sooooooooooooooo bad and well so does kimbo i like them both...

CBRich 11-02-2009 07:53 PM

Four heavy hands. Two glass chins. This one won't last long.

CBRich 12-06-2009 09:34 PM

Surprised that Kimbo and Houston went to decision.

And Roy Nelson takes it all.
