rashad evans and rampage coaching heavyweights with kimbo slice as a cast member

CBRich 06-03-2009 11:34 AM

Rampage and Rashad both like to talk a lot but they can both back it up. And I'm calling it right now. Kimbo out after first fight. Just watch.

How can you guys watch this show? The show's pretty much consisted of 10% of actual training footage and 90% fraternity drama. :/

i'll take you up on that. hear me out though :icon17:

i followed the entire kimbo drama and after everything that happened i still give the guy some credit. alot of people hate on him but i dont think its warranted. the blame should be on eliteXC's promoters. they took this guy out of nowhere and offered him big bucks and put him as the headliner of their entire organization. if you were kimbo you wouldnt say no, he jumped at the oppertunity like anyone would. with that said the guy seemed to train hard and was never some fake character he was pretty professional and humble the whole time. it wasnt his fault he was promoted as zeus from the movie no holds barred with hulk hogan. they put someone in front of him and he fought.

then he got caught by a C list 205er who had some basic skills under strange circumstances... so the guy is rookie and he is fairly one dimensional but i see him on the an even playing field or even having a small advantage over some of the other TUF guy hell 4 of the competitors this season are ex NFL players..... they never were trained by bas rutten and they never fought primetime MMA in front of one of the largest audiences....all im saying i say he will go further into it than you think against TUF competitors... as far as UFC thats another thing. but i would like him to succeed enough to where he might get one actual fight under UFC

i would love to see kimbo vs shane carwin

CBRich 06-03-2009 02:28 PM

I dont' disagree that he was thrown into terrible circumstances that he just couldn't live up to. And he has trained with some great people such as Bas, but I still don't think he's as good as most amateur fighters. He's just your typical big guy with heavy hands and no cardio. I'd bet I can find a few guys at the local jits gym that could beat him.

All In Good Fun

Now that I really think about, I don't have nothing personal against Kimbo. His promoters/managers set him for a colossal failure and the fact that my friends/co-workers who've all been introduced to the MMA scene through TUF have been praising him and still does.

AARC51 06-04-2009 09:44 AM

What happened to Kimbo was 100% his fault. He over-hyped himself, tried to get rich quick and got beat down by guy with pink hair in the process. Now he's going to get beat down in the fight to actually get on the show.

Tried to get rich quick? He got 1/2 a million dollars for 14 secs of work in that fight!

500k goes fast when you drive gold plated H2's.

Don't get me wrong but I think Kimbo Slice is a beast.
Just give him a little time and he'll be up there.
Don't make me regret these words Kimbo!

CBRich 06-23-2009 08:34 AM

You need to remember that Kimbo is not some young up and comer. The man is 35. His physical abilities are heading the exact opposite direction of where he's trying to go. It just won't happen.

I'm all over this one

CBRich 07-26-2009 09:42 AM

King Mo would be smart to stay quiet until he has really accomplished something. I would guess that Rampage is on a completely different level.

Billy02987 07-28-2009 11:13 AM

I agree with CBRICH, kimbo is already out of his prime and I just dont see him lasting long. Maybe on the show he'll do alright because it's a bunch of amature fighters, but I dont think he could beat a single heavyweight in the UFC. I don't even think he could beat the light heavyweights in UFC.
