ESPN had an excellent explanation of the rule for this situation. Normally if 2 eligible receivers take simultaneous possession of the ball (i.e. they both catch it at the same time) the catch goes in favor of the offense. However, if one of the receivers establish possession first and then the second receiver gets joined possession of the football, then the catch goes in the favor of the first receiver. That's exactly what happened with Jennings getting possession of the ball first.

Also, good call by McCarthy about not commenting on the refs. The league really can't say anything to him now.

Wow, was that a joke! I can't believe what my NFL has become. So sad... So sad.

holy F*ck. this needs to straighten up lol

yeah they just explained the simultaneous catch rule on ESPN and that made it even more clear that it wasnt that..

Yup I explained it right here. Looks like twitter has been blowing up with responses from other players and all of them say the same thing.

Just thinking out loud, but shouldn't the NFL have to answer to every Packers shareholder that wants to know how/why their team lost off of what is obviously a bad call? I mean, this game could have playoff implications which would impact team revenues... if i'm a shareholder I'd call the NFL to the carpet on this one.

It's funny, I was actually just thinking the exact same thing.

Hell, the Pack got the advantage on a bad call on their last scoring drive. The integrity of the game is on shaky ground.

IIRC the shares the packers sold are a novelty and don't represent actual ownership in the team.

Of all of the teams to lose because of a blown call, the packers are the best option. Any other team has one owner that can just call old Roger and complain, now he is gonna have to deal with an angry public.

At least the pack showed great class by going out for the meaningless pat. Pete carroll could have also been classy by ordering a kneeldown, but whatevs, a farce is a farce.
