I agree. I'm not mad at the refs. I'm mad at the situation. These guys are doing the best they can but its obvious they are in WAY over their heads. Not their fault. And I do feel sorry for them because of the embarrassment they must feel.

I think undertrained rather than under qualified. They've been through less formal training than I went through to officiate little league playoffs.

And we had plenty of crazy things with the RU refs....hochuli rule anyone?

Could be both, though. They didn't really have time to "weed out any non-hackers from [their] beloved corps"

They were less frequent, and the games weren't each taking 3.25 hours to complete.

No argument on the delay.

I don't really believe they were that much less frequent, there was just a lot less bitching because people weren't watching for it.

well, i dont cry about the calls that much. Only during the game, like when they happen but after its whatever.

Steelers fans never complain about bad calls, thats how Big Jen got his first super bowl ring :icon17:

This. Sucks to be on the east coast when it comes to the late games.

Yeah, every superbowl winner only ever wins because of the refs according to the "fans"

dastaco 09-25-2012 01:13 PM

I wouldn't say that, I can't think of many games where the refs directly affected the outcome. Some of your homer fans might agree, but they are usually just local team fanboys anyway.

well see your interpretation of directly affected the outcome is false.

on the drive where Greenbay scored the TD, they were granted a PI call that was ********.

Without that their drive would have stalled and them punted.

So Seattle would not have even needed this hailmary play to win.

I'm a Hawks fan, I don't see anything wrong with the call.. Lol. The way I see it is that the Hawks were finally on the winning side of a "questionable" call. Those of us in Seattle still remember being robbed in Superbowl XL.. Steelers told us to suck it up and deal with it. So sorry Greenbay and your fans.. It's your turn to suck it up put your big girl panties on and deal with it.. That being said I'm pretty sure the "12th man" wouldn't of allowed that call to go against them.. Just be glad it wasn't a bowl game people

Yeah I'm more angry at the fact that the NFL and the NFLRA haven't come to an agreement yet. The replacements are clearly undertrained and having difficulty keeping up with the pace of NFL games, but they are doing the best they can. As much as the NFL talks about protecting player safety and the integrity of the game, they've proven without a doubt that they only care about money. Even if they did give in to the demands of the NFLRA, that money is a drop in the bucket compared to how much the NFL is pulling in.

When a ref blows a TD/Int call with 0 seconds left on the clock.. that is directly affecting the outcome of the game. The fact that they screwed up a bunch of other calls before that just indicates that they had no business officiating the game.

Moral of the story, get the real refs back. The game is suffering badly and it needs to be fixed.
