True, but as of this season, the Mavs have lost all offensive spark, I mean you would think a team consisting some of the greats such as Carter, Marion, Kidd, and Nowitizki could perform, and they did....last year. lol. I don't know if they let the championship win get to their head or not, but Rick Carlisle needs to implement a new offensive startegy...they are lacking greatly there. Kidd needs to take more shots, and not go halfway to the basket and throw the ball back, Nowitizki needs to be set up for more screens to shoot, JT needs his spectacular games EVERY night, Carter needs to bring back his dunk game from like we saw from him in the early 2000's dunk competition. Then the Mavs can actually start playing like the team they use to be.

It doesnt help that their head coach is a hot head either, im sure Mark Cuban wasn't too happy about that "soccer" incident.

I think he has potential. I wouldn't say hes on the caliber of a young Wade, or Kobe, but the kid def has skills. Of course all the hype is making him seem greater than he really is, but hes def someone ill be keeping my eyes on.

I totally agree with what your saying
The west in no where near as good as it once was so the Mavs have just as good of a chance of any in the West. And come playoff time Jet and Nowitzki will get it together. Hopefully their will be Heat V Mavs III, last years finals were really good

Yeah finals last year was good, I remember all the hate Miami Lebron got because they didn't win. But I was watching some Heat replays and was comparing them to how they are playing this season, and I have to say the team is looking better than ever.

Yea the heat are playing good but it's not about the regular season with them it's how Lebron plays in the finals... It was pretty sad how he played last year in the forth, too bad he is an awesome player too

Yeah a lot of factors contributed to that, he admitted in an interview a while back that he was playing very angry basketball the whole season, including the finals because of many different reasons. One of them being the on going bashing from people about him leaving Cleveland, and problems he had with the management aspects of the Heat team.

But since his summer training with Olajuwon, he has improved on his low post game, and you can def see it this season. He posts up more, has more handle, (for a guy his size 6'8 260lbs) and the whole team in general have a great chemistry. Wade is there to compliment him as a great player, and the rookie this year Norris Cole is a real notable player. And cant forget about Bosh, hes like the silent of the Big Three, probably the most down to earth as well. I think if they keep the same tempo that they have going now, and play with the same intensity on the fast breaks, get high percentage shots, they should be able to clench this finals win. I have a feeling, I really do, I think this is their year.

The Lin hype reminds me a lot of the hype about Ramon Sessions when he broke out for like two weeks.

Dude, its a hype because people have something to call it by, "Linnsanity", lol...its not that big of deal to me as I have seen great talent, and by all means im not downplaying Lin, but people are treating him like a Legend...like wtf?

So all it takes in this day and age to be great is to have a couple 20+ point games, and shake up Kobe Bryant? If that was the case, half the players in the NBA would be considered "great".

Oh and speaking of the Heat and Lebron just read this,LeBron tells uneasy Heat fans not to worry | NBA.com makes me very nervous actually, although in the article Lebron never states that he will go back to Cleveland, he never rejects the idea either.

I dont know if this means anything to the Heat, but losing Lebron would def be a great loss. Im sure IF this happens it would be post finals or even the season after the next but just reading it makes me shudder. Hope he doesn't have other ideas deep inside him.

Oh and Drodriguez this is what I mentioned before about him having some issues last year that he admitted in this article
Quote:
"It was a very difficult year for me last year, a transition year for myself on the court and off the court," he said. "I'm very comfortable when I'm with my whole family.

Lebron ruined his legacy already running to Miami to win some quick championships with Wade and Bosh than staying in Cleveland and winning on his own. He wants to be compared to Jordan/Kobe and have more championships. He's trying to play catch up on Wade's team. Cleveland was one step closer every year, it wasn't like they were bad, they were no. 1 seed every year and Lebron won 2 MVP's. He should've stayed in Cleveland Kobe didn't dump his team when they sucked from 04-07 being 8th seed. Jordan/Kobe would never dare seek someones help and go elsewhere.
I don't like Lebron, he's a great talent but just not a smart person. He says stupid things in interviews and stuff. Last year with his comments in the finals and also making fun of Dirk being sick last year in the finals.

Cleveland fan much??

No but in all seriousness you are right that Lebrons decision to leave was probably not in his best interest. Its part of the reason he carries so much pressure to win now. However, I bet you if he wins a ring this year (and most likely will be MVP finals player as well), there won't be anymore talk about his character or personality. People will still hate him in Ohio for leaving them, but he will establish a new foundation of fans in the south,(and I think he has already started to do that) which to me is a much larger and more impactful crowd than the cavalier fans.

Sometimes i feel that his actions outside of the court also make him seem like the "bad guy", but in reality, his amazing skills as a basketball player should overshadow that. Just as Michael Jackson had issues outside his music career, true fans of him and his music didn't let that affect their perception of how great of an artist Michael was. Similarly, all this background talk about him being a traitor, and etc, shouldn't take away from why we watch this guy play night after night and yam on guys that have 3 to 4 more years expereince in the league. All in all it for me it comes down to the skills you show on the floor, all that other talk can be saved for the tabloids.

And Jordan and Scottie should come back and ball it up like they used to 15 years ago right? Dude, the Mavis are just old. They obviously gave it everything they had last year to squeeze out a championship but they're not doing it again.

Anyways pressing on....

Looks like lin really has to show out tonight to prove that his hype is actually real.

As it looks now, Melo seems to actually like Lin, and they shouldn't have a problem tonight with ball possession, but Melo tries to say he isnt a ball hog.

He sat down with Stephen Smith to talk about Lin:
