He wrote a letter to the NBA when he was 17 because he didn't want to finish high school before he joined. You say he is a hard worker? I have never seen him give a 110% the way MJ and Kobe have. Kobe knows how to involve his team and then when they need him, he puts the team on his back in the clutch. Kobe and MJ didn't have the freakish athleticism lebron has. They had to sacrifice so much more and because of it, they are legends in the sport. Lebron expected to be an NBA all star. He will never be in the same league as kobe, let a lone come even close to MJ's league. I see lebron as a freakish man child with ungodly strength and speed that never was the underdog. Because of that, he doesn't know how to reach inside and dig into the knot that sits behind your stomache where you keep your last hopes. Lebron's mother spoiled him. Lebron's high school spoiled him. The cav's spoiled him. He is now far too spoiled. You can't have a good omlette is even one of those eggs is spoiled.

He may get a ring or two and he may break some records. But he still that whiny freak man child who expects things on a silver platter. Thats why when the game is on the line and its for all the marbles, he chokes.

MJ didn't even get picked for his high school team. He made his career proving people wrong. He would make his critics eat their own words. When they said he couldn't play defense, he got defensive player of the year. When they said he was a ball hog, he became the Bull's all time assist leader. He used naysayers to fuel the fire of desire for perfection in his belly.

Just my 10 cents.

So you think Kobe was not hyped when he entered the NBA around 18? You think Jordan wasn't hyped until he started winning championships with the bulls. No one is making a comparison to them, in fact I feel Lebron is in a league of his own. Go around and ask the average person that doesn't know about basketball. And then ask them if they know who Michael Jordan is, ask them if they know Kobe Bryant, ask them if they know who Lebron James is. They will answer yes, then ask them if they know who for example, just putting it out there who Derrick Rose is, even who Dwayne Wade is, they probably will say I don't know, or no.

The hype you talk I think you have mistaken by the word popularity. Lebron is a popular man. When I say that it is an understatement. To be on the path to being a legend, to be "great" you have to be well known, you have to be popular. And how do you think he has gotten popular? Not by just dribbling the ball a couple times on the floor and passing it around and making a couple shots a night. But he has constantly grown in gameplay, he started with .410 when he came into the league back in 03, he is not .55 FT%, he started with 4.2 rpg, now he is avergaing 8.4 this season! And he is not even a 3 point shooter, but he is shooting .405 coming from just 0.2 %. Not bad when you realize that he is playing a forward.

And improvements, other than his shooting percentages we all know he is one if not the best finisher in the NBA. People said he had no low post game, so he trained with Olajuwon over the summer, and is making more shots posting on defenders. Hence his shooting % is getting considerably higher. You have to give to this man to know what he is doing, he plays smart intelligent basketball. A hot head and egoistic, but has every right to be! Ill say it and not just because I am a fan, he is going to be one of the greatest who ever played this game. Plus his fan base outweigh his haters anyways.

Anyone following the trade deadline rumors? Looks like the deadline is next Thursday, which means DW, Gasol, and Jamal Crawford might be possibly traded.

Mark stein said this about the trade with Orlando/Dwight:

Quote:

I’m sure some of the “Magic resolve” chatter that’s been gaining traction in recent days about how increasingly determined they are to keep him beyond the deadline is at least partly designed as a means of trying to improve the offers that come in before the deadline. Yet it seems evident that the stronger belief in the Magic Kingdom is that it’s better to keep Dwight and face the worst-case-scenario consequences of losing him for nothing if there’s so much as a 10 percent chance of him changing his mind.

The vibe coming from the Magic is that owner Rich DeVos prefers that scenario, frightening as it is, to what Orlando can get for Dwight in a trade today. Fortunately we have only about a week more to wait to find out whether Orlando’s bravery has staying power … or whether the claim that it’ll take its chances with mere salary-cap space should Dwight bolt was just posturing.

can't forgive kover for 6 missed threes (3 wide open) in last 4 minutes of the game...

Or Rondo for missing the lay-up that could have won the game for Boston. :stirthepot:

So have been watching the Bulls play for a while now, as they are gonna play the heat Wed.

I have to say that the Bulls do 2 things very well.

They rebound the ball exceptionally well, which gives them more second chance opportunities, as well defensive rebounds, which helps them ignite the fast break.

On the fast break, DR is a one man show, amazing how the guy can change the ball direction in mid air, shows a lot of hops and control. His execution is amazing, loved the dunk he had on the Knicks last night.

Another guy who I really like is Noah, he really puts defensive pressure in the paint, and his reach and length gives him the upper hand on rebounds. Hes also one of the many centers like TC who can actually throw down without it looking awkward, if you know what I mean, centers usually can throw down right by the hoop, but when they start to run they look weird. lol.

Another thing I noticed is passing. The Bulls are a very unselfish team, they are able to rotate the ball enough to find the open man or the guy with the higHest % shot night after night. Also passing it to DR in the paint is almost a given, as that guy will drive to the hoop with no fear.

I think the Heat are going to have a problem with their offensive rebounds. They don't get nearly as much as the bulls. As for match ups, Im looking forward to Chalmers-DR, maybe Bosh-Noah?. Also can't forget about Korver, the Heat have to keep an eye on him.

Overall, this should be a really good game. Wed 3/14 ESPN @ 9:30

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni resigns

Reports: New York Knicks coach Mike DAntoni resigns - NBA News | FOX Sports on MSN

There you go folks... Looks like D'Antoni is stepping down as head coach of the Knicks.. And it seems Carmello Anthony is part of the problem. We were winning more games with him on the bench. As soon as the ball touches his hand the ball stops moving... And the way he's shooting this just doesn't work...

Curious to see where it goes from here...

cow 03-14-2012 02:04 PM

I continue to dislike Carmelo Anthony.
