No doubt, its just the name that gets me, a guy who thrashed an audience member is now trying to promote world peace. I find that highly ironic. :icon17:

I call it personal growth!

Breaking news - I'm going to the Cipper game tonight! The seats should be pretty good too about 7 rows in. Best part is that they are Free!

phelan 01-26-2012 02:29 PM

Also an interesting article I found, not much of a suprise but take a peek at who is the 2nd highest earner. :icon17:

Kobe Bryant is Top-Earning NBA Player | Lakers Nation

( Click to show/hide )
Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is the highest-earning NBA player according to Forbes.com. Although there was a work stoppage during the summer which cut into the players’ salary, Kobe was busy touring the world and in turn received a hefty amount of money.

This summer Kobe went around the world and made stops at Athens, Istanbul, Milan and Rome. The basketball tour was with Nike and involved setting up basketball camps and opening company stores.

Aside from his Lakers’ salary, Kobe is sponsored by a myriad of companies which include Nike, Smart Car, Panini and Turkish Airlines, and they pay him $28 million annually. If you put together the money from the Lakers, Bryant is the NBA’s top-earning athlete at $53.2 million.

Right below Kobe Bryant is Miami Heat forward LeBron James who stands at $49 million. James makes about $33 million off endorsements from the hands of Nike, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, State Farm and Upper Deck.

Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo round out the top five, but are miles away from Kobe and LeBron. http://www.lakersnation.com/wp-conte...es-300x203.jpg

Lakers win tonight even though they lost an 18pt lead, at least they are making progress.

Heat vs Bulls was a really good game as well!

LakeShow 01-30-2012 12:11 AM

Kobe is truely amazing averaging 30.5 points per game at his age which hasn't been done by anyone at age 33 or older, not even Jordan. Honestly right now it seems if Kobe doesn't put up 30 or 40 the Lakers wouldn't even be in the game. The team needs desperate help with a 2-7 record on the road and losing to teams like the Bucks and Pacers and being embarrassed by Heat and Magic. Lakers are literally 1 or two players from a championship team. Another month and a half for the trade deadline so hoping for the best.

Bucks game was really embracing but their offensive spacing is my biggest concern.

If their offense can come around we will be in much better shape for the remaining 40+ games.

:icon17: I was going to say why not just make an NBA thread, that way ALL nba fans can talk about basketball, and not just one team.

Nope, I just don't really care to talk about other teams or see the Lakers get bashed by people who don't watch every game and instead suggest we trade everyone on the team after a loss.

It just gets old...

I agree that the name should be changed back from "NBA season" to something Laker related. This new name is just going to direct peple to here that will troll, don't want to be here, or will waste their time looking for general NBA talk but be disappointed (like me). Stickying a misnamed thread is never a good idea...
