So they finally decided to come to some kind of agreement, looks like we are gonna start Xmas day, with a 66 game season:

Possibly the crappiest of all pro sports..... Too bad the whole season wasn't lost...

How I see it is something is better than nothing, honestly I thought that there would be no season at all. With that being said, it was pointless arguing and bickering that caused the lockout to stretch so long....

Kobe was destroyed last season, everyone knows this. And yeah he's getting old but completely disregarding him this season when he's back to 100% health with something to prove will be a mistake.

btw, I'm not a Kobe **** rider like some are but I am a Lakers fan. I just think Kobe's talents get overlooked because of his personality and I think that's bullsh1t.

Kobe does a have a cocky/confidence attitude to him. It showed a lot more when he had the beef with Shaq.

With that being said no doubt he is a great player, after MJ, he is one of my fav of all time. But as you mentioned he is getting older, and newer guys will eventually take his spot, its just how it goes whether it is music, sports, etc. Now not everyone out there can be compared/replaced as Kobe, but I think Lebron does have the accolades (other than ring) and skills to be the next "Kobe". And personally I think hes already there. Thats what I was implying by my previous post.

Eh, my undying illogical hatred of lebron blinds me to any of his strengths or abilities. I have a lot of love and respect for D.Wade though. Speaking of florida, my eye will be on dwight howard this season. Kobe in my mind was overrated anyway and Shaq was underrated. Shaq I feel adds so much to a team in on court presence and drawing defenders. Plus shaq was one of the nicest guys in basketball, and kobe was kinda an @$$ to him. Yeah he got a ring without shaq but still.

Gonna be an interesting season. Chicago's First son Rose and the prodigal son Wade. We shall see.

Keep in mind Lebron had averaged 2nd highest pts last season only person in front of him was Durant so #s speak for themselves. No doubt about his skills and abilities there.

and yes dwade is mos def a problem too, but I still think Lebron is more of an all rounder he has 3rd highest FG %, decent 3pt %, low post beast, avg 7.5 in rebounds, hes an all round package like Kobe. Wade on the other hand got the mid range jumper on lock, but his rpg, 3pt% and FG% stil dont match Lebrons.

I am a LeBron fan, but a low post threat? ehhhh He doesn't have the low post foot work present in his game. He needs to get some lessons like Kobe did from Olajuwon

and for a big guy, his foot work isnt bad at all, his post body is actually pretty good compared to guys his size and height

Maybe it's time to get back into it since the lock outs over with.

Hes been working on it all summer, and while the season has been on a standstill, so we should see some improvement this season.

Lebron = over rated!

saying Lebron is overrated is like saying Dwight Howard is only good at defense cuz of his size.

Lebron is not overrated, he is more like the black knight, he is the underdog, the only reason people undermine him is because he doesn't have a ring, not his fault, as most of his team didn't hold their own weight in the finals he was forced to take all the brunt, and you can only carry your team so far by yourself, basketball isn't an "I" game its a "team" game.

but if we start judging players on if they got a NBA championship ring or not, most players would be considered overrated anyways.

Lebron is not an underdog by any stretch of the imagination. :wtf:

He is one of the most hyped basketball players of all time. They were hyping him in high school. And, to his credit, he has backed most of that up with his play. I don't think he's overrated from a talent perspective, but it's patently ridiculous to call him an underdog.

Whether or not he ever wins a title, he'll be a HoF-er at this rate. If he adds titles to the resume, he'll be talked about as one of the best ever.

I don't like how he handles himself on a personal level, but he's got skills on a court.

I was referring to his career after he moved from Cleveland to the Heat. Thats when most of the bashing about him being overrated and all that came to its peak. Everyone wanted him to do bad, and in a recent interview he even admitted his performance in the 11 finals wasn't his best. But as I said, that is not his fault. So in that sense he is a underdog because although people say that he is great, there are a lot more naysayers about his talent, and people who overlook his abilities and skills just because he doesnt have a championship ring. When in reality he already has proven his skills, and he doesn't need a ring to establish that.

Thats what I like about James though, even with all the bashing he has gotten (mostly by sour clevland fans) he still admitted his wrongs, said he was playing more angry because of it, and it affected his overall in game performance. Outlining your own mistakes is a good way to start if you are going to gain back fans you have lost due to a personal decision. Hopefully, he can get back to playing like he was when he was in 09-10'

Yeah I'm one of those lebron bashers. But To be honest I bashed him in cleveland too. You see, Im from chicagoland. There is one whose name is holy in chi town basketball. Lebron called himself the next incarnation of that guy. and then he wore the number 23.... yup. never gonna like him. its illogical, and it actually brings more discredit to me that to him ( my absolute dislike of the guy). So when I watch him play, I hope that he never gets a ring...we all have our opinions. I know mine in this area doesn't make much sense. But its still my opinion and its prolly never gonna change.

Its not about being like MJ, its about upholding his loyalty towards clevaland fans, the same fans he promised he would get a finals win. No doubt James has the skills to be potentially compared to one of the greats, but clevland fans felt disrepected that he promised them pizza and never delivered, the whole jersey # and being like MJ was all marketing/mumbo jumbo. He even admitted that he wanted to change the number for that reason, also to pay tribute to a living legend.
