Body Builders... What are you stacking??
I figured we can learn from each other of what people stack pre and post workouts. I know everyone is a bit different and different things may or may not work. But what has worked for you and what hasn't?
So far for me, I have been keeping things simple and not really stacking much. I am taking simple OneADay vitamin pills with 1000 mg of omega3. Before workouts I would take a bit of jack3d for the pump and MyoFusion protein for post workout. My recovery time from workouts have been cut in half with MyoFusion. As for BCAA I haven't bought any BCAA's yet. I am not sure what to buy. What do you guys recommend? |
=Morning Supplements=
1 Scoop Phyto Berry 1 Scoop Spirulina 1 Tbsp 3/6/9 Oil Multi Vitamin Vitamin - C Vitamin - E =Immediately Pre Workout= 1 Scoop Buzzsaw (Creatine / NO Supplement) 1 Teaspoon BCAA 1Teaspoon Electrolytes =Post Workout = 1 Scoop Waxy Maize 2 Scoop Fast Acting Protein 1 Teaspoon BCAA =Late Night= 2 Scoop Slow Acting Protein 1 Tbsp 3/6/9 Oil =Right Before Bed= DHEA 50mg 1 Coral Calcium 3 x ZMA 1 Sleep Aid (Contains Melatonin, Very deep sleep) |
I just take some amino's and a MV, then a whey isolate shake right after I work out. I am getting ready to start running Epistane again, I really liked that when I took it a year ago.
|
I also keep things simple for the most part, but then a lot of that has to do with the prices of supplements adding up rather quickly. I use Optimum Nutrition's (ON) gold standard whey as well as their Casein. I also take Jack3d and a multivitamin, Opti-Men.
I try to take in about or a little more than (my body weight in pounds) grams of protien a day. With shakes between meals, after workouts and a casein shake directly before bed I try to keep a positive nitrogen balance and ensure my body has a source of protein all the time. Jack3d I take about an hour before my workouts and since its my only source of creatine at the moment, I try to make sure to take it even on my off days (whenever i think i could use a boost that day) to keep up the level of creatine in my bloodstream. Best whey flavor imo: Strawberry, casein: cookies and cream (tho i don't particularly like that ice cream flavor the protein is good). I used to take Universal Storm creatine (which I thought was a good product) but I'm using Jack3d at the moment because it serves two functions well. :tiphat: |
Pre = Amino fuel 3 teaspoons
Intra = Amino/creatine mono mixed in a gatorade. Post = Muscle Milk 3 scoops in whole milk. I've learned over the past 4 years that most everything else is not really needed. NO2 is bunk and doesn't last. Sup companies are making mils off giving you nothing. |

I personally use NO2 when I am lifting and hit a plateau. NO is no magic syrum but it certainly has it's place, and it's use in the bodybuilding community. Increased blood-flow due to vascular dilation, can reasonably equate to a greater level of oxygenation of the muscles during a workout due to a larger volume of blood flow. It's unfortunate when uneducated, or ignorant people make blanket statements, because other people read them and go around parroting them, further propagating misinformation. |
when I saw the thread title, not the subject matter i was expecting to discuss... :happydance:
|
I also use jack3d pre workout. Then a shake post workout. intra workout I use purple wrath.

I am curious how it worked for you. What did you stack it with? use a pct? any Gyno? what kinda gains? |
I just use some ON 100 Whey as soon as i wake up, before workout and after.
Pure creatine mono and jacked before the workout. Intrabolic during the workout. and Creatine+ Protein after. I also use fishoil in the morning and with pre workout meal...take Casein slow digesting protein before bed. |

Pre-Workout
NO-Shotgun- Ok for energy and great pumps and vascularity Post Workout Myozene by BioQuest I've been working out for years and I always come back to this. Some people will say its overpriced but I always get it on sale for 35. Works great due to the 7 grams of Leucine. Seems to be the sweet spot. I put on 15 pounds of muscle in 6 months on this stuff, no roids, clean bulk. BCAA's all day long |

Yah I only stacked the basics with it and a cycle support. I took nolva pct along with a natty test and lean xtreme.
Of course I was eating 3500-4000kcal a day too. |

So here is a professional saying MOST men cant gain IN A YEAR what you claim to have gained in 6 months. Do I know what I am talking about? Here is my resume: Body builder for 30 years, competitive for 10, on the the cover of Strength and Health Jan 1986, Awarded "most promising body builder state of Florida 1985", 1985 Mr York Classic 1st place middleweights (Orlando FL), 1985 Mr Suncoast 1st middleweights and OVERALL winner (all weight classes)Tampa FL, Mr Florida 1985 5th place, Mr Alabama 1987 3rd place, Mr Southern USA 2006 over 40's 2nd place. I also wanted to note that my bench max was 550 lbs when in my twenties and I again broke 500 on the bench at 43 years old (525 lbs). 6 months after I competed in the Mr Southern USA in 2006 I was hit by a drunk driver and spent 7 months in the hospital from severe injuries. I can no longer lift or compete in a serious manner. I still have the knowlege and exp though. |

That is incredibly impressive! I am honored to even be in the same thread!! I can only hope to have that kind of a resume. What kinda diet did you maintain? Are you a believer in supplementation? |
When I was competing I was on a 12,000 calorie a day diet. I took in 30 grams of protien every 2 hours. My off season body weight was around 250 lbs. I took Ultra mega vitamins in the AM, about 3000 mg of C a day, NO2's, lots of whey, and creatine.
I did believe in supplements and have done just about anything you can name. I have not done growth because my main competitive time was BEFORE it was heavily used. Other things, yes, HGH no. I do know quite a bit about this and other grey market things but am no longer directly involved with these items. I dont agree with another posters comments about NO2's. They do work, they are good, and they do make a difference. They need to be a good brand (high quality) and taken very frequently. You can skimp on protien brands but not on NO2 brands. It also helps if you are taking creatine with the NO2's. |
Anyone recommend any BCAA brands? I am currently looking at the Met-Rx softgel tablets.
