A nutritionist told me that there is no point getting the expensive whey proteins because when it comes down to it, most of them uses the same stuff.
For the most part, the more expensive DON'T use the same stuff. The cheap stuff usually just has concentrate whey while the more expensive ones use isolate and hydrolyzed or some kind of mix. Hydro ain't cheap and great for after workouts. Hydrolyzed has a very high amino acid profile especially Leucine. There is a difference, just depends how serious you wanna get.

What you gained sir was water and fat and a couple lbs of muscle.
Not at all. My bench went from 250 to 340, squat went from 400 to 500, started curling with 45 dumbells and now do 80's. Dunno what you've experienced while taking supplements and lifting, but i've gone from 155 to 185. I'll post before and after pics if need be (I've chronicled every change in physique). Oh, btw, my body fat percentage is holding steady at 7

To be fair, I was on Amplified Mass for the first 2 months.

How many months did it take to go from 155 to 185? Supplements can increase strength by a lot but keeping a low body fat % is hard. Working out is easy it is the diet that is hard...

So at 155lbs you were squatting 400lbs, curling 45's and benching 240?

You gained 35lbs but are at 7% bodyfat?

You are aware that it has been scientifically proven that even with steroid use the human body is unable to synthesize more than 1lb of pure muscle per week in ideal conditions?

LMFAO, You curl 80's at 7% bodyfat eh? Wow that's very impressive that you're stronger than Arnold was at the peak of his bodybuilding career.

Congrats on that.

Sorry to be a hater but it amazes me that people still try to BS stuff like this online. They know there are serious lifters out there who will bust you, but they hope they don't read this forum and try it anyways.

I agree. As someone who has busted his *** with diet and workouts for years with the aspirations of someday being able to compete, when people belittle the hard work I put in to make real world gains by claiming outrageous results it posses me off. It also gives non-fitness people unrealistic ideas of what is possible.

If we were in a gym right now id be slapping the 10plates on the bar and force this kids *** under it once to see just how heavy a true *** to the ground 500lb squat is.

I picked up a whey protein called Nitro-Pro last week from the vitamin shoppe for 42 bucks.

Only been using it for a week so can't comment to much, but I work out everyday and take it with 16 oz. of milk after each time.

Definitely more energy, tastes really good to me, and helps keep muscle mass after my workout too.

suggestions about brands? I was clueless and just bought what the sales guy recommended.

I use ON Oats and Whey

Doesn't have a lot of chemicals and tastes great. I'm sort of a stickler for staying clean.

Never was picky with protein. more picky with pre workouts. But I always used Gold Standard back when I was body building in iraq. works good. price is good. taste is good. thats all that matters to me.

That's what I use. That's the only supplement I ever took. I went from 148lbs and benched 145 to 178lbs and maxed at 220. Granted that was over about a year of on again/off again working out, but I was pretty happy. I'm trying to get back into my gym routine....my 3rd week back. We will see how long that lasts, haha.

Far as I know, Designer Whey is the only one that has legitimate independent studies to support their claims. Allegedly the "designer" part is that the protein molecules are engineered to be more easily passed intact from gut to bloodstream, hence, better absorption and uptake.
