my other MMA question of the week is whats wrong with BJ penn? why is he so obsessed with drug testing the macdonald fight? rory i think is top 2 on the rise guys in all of MMA but he looks like a little kid who the school but needs to be picking up.. the dude is a guy i could take to a biker bar and have him kick anyones *** and win a bunch of money lol.. the guys isnt on roids.. BJ penn said he had back acne right? yeah he is like 22 years old and rolls all day. i think penn is hedging his bets for another excuse when he looses.

thats one thing i like about bellator instead of a subjective this guy fights for the title next its tournamant style... i obviously dont think UFC needs to be straight tournament but having a semi final type eliminator when you get to title contention fight makes sense over struggling to narrow down a pool or 3-4 guys for a shot

Yeah I think that would be a good idea as well. I'd throw the winner of Belcher vs Belfort into the mix too. Not sure if it's just me, but I'd love to see a Silva vs Belfort rematch. It seemed like it would be a really good fight till Silva threw that front kick out of no where. Who knows what that fight would have been like if the kick hadn't KO'd Belfort. I honestly think he has the only chance of beating Silva.

Who knows. I don't know why he even came back for this fight. Just to face someone from GSP's team seems stupid. Couldn't beat GSP so you go after his teammate instead? What will that prove?

yeah you know i talked up the vitor silva fight so much before it happened i was like this could be the guy to do it as he is a straight killer...but then the fight was 1 minute of circling and then that steven segal kick.. vitor didnt even have a chance to even fight... so i agree from just a gut thing i would want to see him again just because ive been a big fan.

i dont think belcher will prove to be a problem especially fighting in brazil again

but that fight isnt to what october? if anderson is gonna fight again late this year or early next i dunno that makes it even more tricky.. i wouldnt be surprised if somehow franklin leap frogs all of them if he beats coung li

there is a big rumor of a UFC super fight in cowboy stadium around feb/march if GSP beats condit. atleast thats what joe rogan said on his podcast.. if that happens im THERE! my mom and dad work with this guy in their business who is like best friends with jerry jones... so i need to get the hook up

Yeah I could definitely see Silva waiting out for a big Super Bowl fight. You should get me a ticket too if it does happen

No way Belfort is losing in Brazil. I see him coming out with a dominant victory and maybe even headline the Super Bowl fight with Silva if GSP gets injured or something.

Not much of a fan of UFC but my friend is trying to get into that competition. Anyone catch the Team USA vs Nigeria game? I couldn't believe it when I saw the score prior to watching the game from my DVR. People are talking smack saying the USA team kept scoring and sort of like "insult to injury". Hater will always be hater! GO TEAM USA!

Damn those were some impressive main event fights, loved them both! Machida just looked amazing and that counter punch KO was pretty beast. Shogun vs Vera was WAY closer than I thought it would be. Vera did much better than I expected and showed a lot of heart. Glad Shogun still ended up with the win by KO though. I have to say he looked pretty out of shape in the fight and seemed gassed out pretty early. I think they should have Machida and Shogun fight on TUF Brazil and winner gets the next shot.

Edit: Looks like it's been confirmed that Machida will be getting the title shot.

Anyone watch UFC 150? The crowd was dead around here literally no one showed up for the event at my local spot. It was no where near packed by the time the PPV started and ended. I wonder if this is due to how frequent the UFC matches are now....one every weekend or every two weeks. Or if it is how most felt about some of the fighters on the fight card. I am not a Jake Shields nor a Frankie Edgar fan and would never buy a PPV with them headlining. Both are boring technical fighters....never finish....from the words of GSP..." I am not impressed with their performance!"

Well I am glad I went to watch the co-main...which is the only reason I went. Cerrone and Guillard delivered exactly what they said....a thriller for how long it lasted. I thought Cowboy was going to be dropped early but recovered to knock Guillard out before the end of the 1st round.

Then the main event. I actually felt this one was closer than their first. I had it 2-2 going into the 5th. With that I am not unhappy with the judge's decision. I hate Frankie but also felt Bendo was being to cautious and not attacking as much as he could in fear he might get caught as he did in the second. But if you cant finish then you are subjected to the judge's decisions. Frankie never finishes fights and I think he should drop a weight class and try for a shot at getting demolished by Jose Aldo.

Jake Shields....snooooooooooze. Dunno what Ed Herman was trying to do other than not get submitted.

Ironic that GSP would say such a thing, as he never finishes his fights anymore. I say that as a huge GSP fan.

Cowboy Cerrone is my boy. I root for him every time out, because he always gives it his full effort.

I only really watched the main events. Cerrone vs Guillard was pretty amazing. That was a vicious KO punch by Cerrone, who I thought was gonna get KO'd himself in the beginning.

Henderson vs Edgar was definitely very close, but I gave the slight edge to Edgar. I gave Henderson rounds 1/3 and Edgar 2/4/5. Also had it 2-2 going into the last round and thought Edgar did a little better.

As far as Edgar not finishing fights, it bothers me too, but at least it's not because of a lay n pray style of fighting. His quickness is what makes him so tough to finish. He did have a pretty nice come from behind KO win in his last fight with Maynard though.
