It's no exception. Most of the TUF series center around smacktalking coaches. Serra vs. Hughes would have been epic, had Serra not gotten hurt. Huge build-up, huge hype, nothing great came of it. There haven't been many truly epic fights between TUF coaches. The Kos/GSP fight was over in the first round.

Read that Rampage and Sonnen had some words exchanged between them. That might be an interesting fight. It would have tons of trash talking fight, but will probably end up like Rampage vs Evans.

Looks like we never discussed the UFC 149 results, so let's do it now. The Lombard vs Boetsch fight was a HUGE disappointment. I was expecting an exciting stand up war and got nothing. Neither of them deserve to even be close to a title shot right now, Silva would destroy them. Barao vs Faber was a good tactical fight and went kind of like I expected. I think Cruz vs Barao will be a good fight to watch. Will be interesting to see how Barao deals with the quickness and awkward movements of Cruz.

In other news, it seems like Anderson Silva's camp is calling for a catchweight fight with GSP. I would love to see this fight and I would have Silva winning it by KO/TKO.

yeah it sucked all around except for the jimmo KO that was awesome made the dude look like popeye lol.. glad i didnt pay for it

i read the GSP news too... i think of course its a great dream match up. but in the same sentence they talked about franklin 3 so im betting if he beats le it might be that fight first.

Yeah I almost forgot about the Cormier vs Mir fight.

I'd want GSP to take Silva out in some form or fashion. He has a way to pick people apart but he can't finish people. To beat Silva you have to take the fight to him fast and aggressive and get him on the ground.

As a Silva fan boy I certainly hope that won't happen

GSP will slow down a bit from gaining weight so might not be in his best form. I think his inability to finish fights will kill him in this one. Silva just needs one opportunity to finish the fight and he will find it whether it's in the first round or fifth. Silva will use his reach advantage to outside GSP and finish him. I think GSP won't start the fight like Sonnen did. He will take some time to test hos striking a bit early in the fight. I am excited to see how he does against GSP's takedowns though.

I don't think he'd be slow. He said himself if he had to gain weight it would be pure muscle. Only time tells.

Did you see him in the fight against Shields? He tried putting on a little bit of weight for that one and he looked terrible in that fight.

I'm excited for the fights tomorrow. Whoever wins most impressively in the main event and co-main event will get the next shot at the LHW title. I'm predicting that Shogun will easily handle Vera and Machida will get the win over Bader, but Shogun will walk away with the title shot. The odds seem to be stacked in his favor. I would like to see him next against Jones anyway (assuming Jones gets past Hendo) and hopefully try a different strategy this time.

i dunno all 4 people got beaten down bad by jones already... no disrespect to vera but i cant see how the hell he got back in title contention when the only reason he is still in the UFC is thiago silva had fake piss and he then won a decision on a facebook card fight.. bader is becoming a gatekeeper at this point machida is still legit but after seeing him choked and dropped like garbage i need a year or so to erase that out of my head before a rematch with jones.. machida should fight evans next in a rematch so rashad can try to get some dignity back from that horrible freeze frame KO pic.

and shogun he is an unknown he beat forrest who didnt even show up for the fight mentally and had fight of the year with hendo but it was grueling test of will from two veterans still not convincing the jones rematch would be any different..

i would rather see Gustafsson fight jones over retreading the 4 guys he just beat

now if dan some how KTFO jones then i take that all back as those 4 guys make different match ups vs dan. i could see shogun hendo II for the belt..but a hell of a lot has to happen for that to become reality

Actually I'd like to see Gustafsson fight whoever does the best from tomorrow night and then have the winner of that fight go against Jones. I have no idea how Vera got into title contention either. I think he'd have to pull of a pretty amazing upset to get it though. I think Gustaffson needs to beat at least one or two top 5 LHW's before getting a title shot.

On to Saturday. My take on the Co main and Main events are this. I really want to see how Bader does against Machida. I think one of these guys will be who faces Jones (or Hendo if he lands an H Bomb) for the title next. I would like to see Bader have another shot cuz he faced Jones early in his career. I think he will be smarter in his attacks this time around if he gets another crack at Jones. I dont see anyone outstriking him in this weight class much like Silva so only way to win is to grind one out on the ground. That is if you can take Jones down.

Now for the Rua vs Vera fight. Not a fan of Vera and much like the fans got it changed from this fight alone determining the next contender I do not see where Dana thought Vera would be a good choice if he won to fight Jones on his career record alone. I am guessing he thought Rua would win easily and get his rematch. I think Rua has a chance to demolish Vera in order to get his shot.

I too want AG to get his shot. Although I think it would be throwing him to the sharks right now. AG needs to fight the Machidas, Ruas, Baders, etc to see if he can hang in the upper echelon of talent in the LHW class. Give him 2 more fights against some of these guys and if he is successful give him a title shot.

Yeah with the rest of the top 5 occupied with fights already, I'd put him up against Evans to see how he does. If he wins then maybe he should get the title shot after the winner of tomorrow's fights. Or maybe give him one more fight after that.

yeah you know i agree i think he is a bit unproven just yet not to mention he lost to phil davis..but that was early on so he certainly had improved... but im saying out of 4 retreads from a fans point of view..i would vote to see him.

but having an eliminator is an even better idea and i think that applies to the 185 title shot too

i think the winner of stann bisping needs to fight weidman before silva

thats one thing i like about bellator instead of a subjective this guy fights for the title next its tournamant style... i obviously dont think UFC needs to be straight tournament but having a semi final type eliminator when you get to title contention fight makes sense over struggling to narrow down a pool or 3-4 guys for a shot
