Hes 38....another year will make him 39, not 42, unless of course he spends his rehab time in dog years....lol

^ off by a couple years... either way, he's an old man by ufc standards... amazing career but I think he's done except for exhibition

RonRizz 12-29-2013 03:34 PM

You may well be right, but I cant help but think of randy couture...who fought last at 47.......... I guess we'll see.

I was thinking of randy as well, and the last of his fights were practically exhibitions

If anyone can make a come-back, Silva's one of them, but my money is against.

Saturdays fights were pretty boring.

Varner getting KO'd was sweet, but overall it was boring.

I'm missing something.

XiP 02-16-2014 11:41 AM

i'm guessing you don't like either of them :icon17:

Can't wait to see Machida fight the Belfort vs Weidman winner. Haboob might be missing the fact that there was a UFC event yesterday :icon17:

Those fights last night were all lame. It seems all these fighters fight way to conservative and still are not that technical. I guess that's why it was free.

I'd argue that the last 2 fights may not have been exciting because they were too technical. Jacare seemed perfectly happy just getting Carmont's back and keeping him there. Carmont's sub defense was really good, but it seemed like Jacare wasn't really trying too hard for the finish.

Machida vs Moussasi was like a stand up chess match. They spent most of the fight being cautious and trying not to make any mistakes. Machida was being more aggressive and IMO landed the more significant strikes. He was definitely trying to finish the fight when he threw those head kicks.

Quite a surprising series of events since yesterday. I'm sirprised that he pulled out of the fight instead of trying to get it pushed back. I hope Machida takes care of Weidman, which should be a good fight.

Yes I hope he avenges Anderson :)

b1adesofcha0s 02-28-2014 12:35 PM

Though Machida winning the belt would get in the way of Anderson getting the title back. So if Machida beats Weidman, then Belfort beats Machida, then Anderson can win the title back from Belfort. Yes I know how crazy I sound right now :icon17:

Then it's Machida vs Anderson so Anderson vacates the belt, moves up to light heavyweight and becomes the new light heavyweight champ

At which point Jon Jones moves up to HW to take on Velasquez.
