Honestly though, I feel like GSP vs Silva would be a lot like the first Sonnen vs Silva fight. GSP will be scared to stand and take Silva down immediately. Then he'll try to hold him there as long as he can so he can try and get a boring decision. Silva will finish GSP one way or another before the end of the 5th round though IMO.

yeah, anybody who stands with silva is an idiot
i think if that fight were to ever happen, silva would work ALOT on his ground game, but then again gsp is smaller than sonnen so silva might not have as much trouble preventing takedowns and whatnot
would be an epic fight nonetheless, but knowing dana it won't happen lol

If he tried to do to Silva what he did with Diaz, he's going to get KTFO. GSP is going to be slower as well after putting on more weight.

shadowfax 03-19-2013 08:17 PM

The fight that needs to happen is Jon Bones vs Silva!

As much as I would love to see this, I don't think it's gonna happen. I think a superfight with GSP is much more likely. Maybe Silva could make it his last fight before he retires, but I really don't see it happening.

XiP 03-19-2013 08:38 PM

I'd love to see silva vs jbj or gsp, NOW while he's still in his prime
But ofc Dana's gonna pull the same thing he did with Fedor... everyone wanted to see Fedor vs Brock but nooooo
Dana wants to do Fedor vs Brock after Fedor got exposed 3x in a row and retired and Brock got ragdolled and went back to the WWE
Dana logic'd

b1adesofcha0s 03-19-2013 09:06 PM

No I don't think that's the case this time. He did mention that he wants to get one of those fights done this year. One rumor was he wanted that fight at MSG if MMA gets sanctioned in NY. I think GSP was ducking Silva and Hendricks a bit when he asked for a fight with Diaz. If when Silva beats Weidman or if Weidman gets hurt, I think they should make this fight happen.

b1adesofcha0s 03-19-2013 09:17 PM

The issue with Fedor was his manager/agent's ridiculous demands. I think he wanted like 50% control of UFC to sign Fedor before those 3 losses. Dude must have been crazy high to ask for that :rofl2:

Luciano13 03-21-2013 01:57 PM

GSP will never take that fight with Silva. He would absolutely have no chance to make it to the final round to get a decision, forget about him knocking out or submitting Silva. His only chance is to make it to the judge......
not happening:owned:

I fully agree. And this makes it better coming from someone from Canada. It would come off as bashing if I said it. The Silva vs Jones is a much better matchup. GSP is boring....what's that I fell asleep watching GSP fight. Big Rig is going to break his left hand along with GSP's face when they step in the ring. He has been ducking Silva and now Hendricks. Well He can't duck either now. He has to pick his poison. Fight Hendricks for the title or do a super fight with Silva. Either way I see him losing which ever fight he takes. Does he lose the belt or solidify Silva a little bit more as the best pound for pound fighter on the planet. Of course to be the undisputed best he needs to face Jones before retiring. This may all go down as a Pacman vs Mayweather deal. Lots of talk but no action from one side or the other to get a deal signed and make it happen.

SPOHN 03-21-2013 02:51 PM

Something needs to happen in the 205 class period. There at one time it had a dozen of great fighters. Now if like one. And that Jones.

b1adesofcha0s 03-21-2013 03:57 PM

I think Jones will eventually move to HW. Not sure how long it will take, but it will probably happen eventually. Silva did mention in one interview that he'd consider fighting Jones if he got past GSP.

SPOHN 03-21-2013 05:36 PM

Jones in HW. No way. Cain, JDS, Bigfoot, and so on. No

As he gets older he will more than likely make the move. He doesn't walk around at 205 naturally. There is a reason why he dwarfs everyone in LHW. Not saying he can't continue to cut for the rest of his career but he shot to stardom much younger and will have cleared the LHW class out much earlier. If he wants a challenge it will be at HW. He is just to big for LHW. Alex Gustaffason is the only one with a similar frame that can match his range. Belfort is the only one who has threatened him in a title fight with a submission attempt.

:iagree:

I didn't say he would be champion at HW, but he would be very competitive if he put on some more muscle. He'd be top 5 or at least top 10 IMO.

b1adesofcha0s 03-27-2013 08:21 PM

I think the fighting scenes will be great, but actual acting scenes could be terrible.

b1adesofcha0s 04-03-2013 09:43 PM

Uriah Hall is a freaking beast! I was annoyed when Josh kept saying he was the only one in the house to win all his fights by KO. There was one other person and he also sent 2 straight opponents to the hospital with his KO's. I think Hall will win the show and I'm excited to see how he does against some higher level opponents in the UFC.

speedfreek 04-03-2013 10:32 PM

Yea pretty much Uriah Hall has this in the bag.

Sucks Gustaffason wont be fighting this weekend. I was hoping he would get a shot at Jones after this fight. Hoping there are some good fights.

Interesting story

SPOHN 04-09-2013 07:31 PM

I love this story. I 100% support Matt Mitrione.

Y! SPORTS

MC 04-09-2013 08:14 PM

well its interesting as Joe rogan went on a rant about that on his podcast and there was no real backlash and he used some colorful language about the situation much more in depth that what matt said that even made TMZ...but i guess its a little different as he is a comedian so they tend to get more of a pass and prefaced much of what he said with he has no issue against transgender people and he respects them its just fighting is a contact sport and fox has no business fighting women. everything rogan said was spot on though. matt just made some quick comments and i guess the "disgusting" thing was what was over the line for the UFC :dunno:

so i mean i dont think mitrione should have gotten suspended as it just seemed like some off the cuff remarks.. forrest had some mild rape comments and apologized and then i think miguel torres was fired for the rape joke ( that he repeated from a sitcom) but then hired back. So i think it was an over reaction to mitrionne

UFC is really getting PC on a lot of stuff lately because of the NY thing i had more of an issue with them "banning(sort of )" jamey jastas hatewear from the ring... as some of you might know jasta is the lead singer of hatebreed and the clothing company sponsors a bunch of MMA guys. white wouldnt let their music be used in a recent walkout or the logos to be used as there is a small group of misinformed people who think their music is tied to racism. anyone who knows the band knows thats totally untrue as all their lyrics are motivational

Uriah Hall! This might be the most excited I've been for a TUF finale ever.

MC 04-09-2013 09:05 PM

yeah he is good enough to get a top 185 fighter for his first fight if/when he wins

:iagree:

I was a bit worried that he might be one of those guys that's very explosive at the beginning of a fight, but gasses out by the 2nd or 3rd round. Seemed to do pretty well with that in this fight. Was able to pace himself and make all of his strikes explosive and powerful. If he wins the show, I would like to see him go up against a top 10 opponent with his first fight.

speedfreek 04-09-2013 10:44 PM

Is it too early for me wanting to see Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva? Possibly so but in a year if he wrecks the other contenders that fight better happen I will take that fight if they cant get the Silva vs Jones fight done.

Definitely too early for that. It's one thing to be dominant against fighters on TUF, but completely different to do the same against top level fighters in the UFC.

Yea I know just wishful thinking on my part. Just want to see Silva actually in a fight. Closest he has come was with Sonnen on PED's. Maybe Weidman can pull something out of his ***.

I love watching Silva fight too. I hope Weidman doesn't, I'd rather see Silva come out and find some new crazy way to finish the fight.

MC 04-09-2013 11:17 PM

na hall needs no piece of silva he needs fight a middle of the road guy like stann/munoz/leben/Le/boetsch as a first fight. did you guys know he has already fought and lost to weidman like early in his career

b1adesofcha0s 04-10-2013 08:27 AM

I can't wait to see what he's like at the finale this Saturday. There's usually a huge jump in preparation and skill from the last episode of TUF to the finale fight. He could be even better with a full training camp. Same with Kelvin, who will probably see more improvement from it.

SPOHN 04-12-2013 01:59 PM

GSP said he's already training for Hendricks. I really like GSP but don't know about this one. I feel Hendricks is going to rip threw GSP. Like first round.

b1adesofcha0s 04-12-2013 02:37 PM

GSP will win if it goes to a decision. Otherwise Hendricks will take it.

b1adesofcha0s 04-12-2013 02:43 PM

I have a good feeling about Hendricks in this one though. Hopefully it won't go like the Koscheck fight where a quick jab busted up his eye at the very start of the fight.

Haboob 04-12-2013 02:53 PM

GSP is so boring. I won't pay to watch a UFC event that he's the main event in. Can't stand him.

b1adesofcha0s 04-12-2013 03:11 PM

I really thought Koscheck was going to beat him in that last fight, he just couldn't do it with one eye.....and GSP couldn't finish an opponent with one eye for 5 whole rounds......

Big Rig will win this fight. He wants it more. I predict it to be in devastating fashion. He will not let the lay n pray King go to decision. If GSP doesn't fight to win instead of points Hendricks will be victorious. It is the end of the road Jack!

I typically wont buy a GSP fight either for that reason. But I will watch them at the local B Dubs. However I will buy the Hendricks fight in support of him and to see my prediction come true.

b1adesofcha0s 04-12-2013 03:25 PM

I mean I can understand and appreciate the strategic part of fighting and playing it safe when you're title is on the line, but GSP just takes it to a whole different level. When you just completely dominate and control your opponents like he does, you have no excuse not to finish the fight.
