You know it's simple really. Anderson Silva lives in the Matrix :icon17:

Teixeira vs Bader fight added to the UFC 160 Card in May. That's the one with Velasquez vs Big Foot rematch.

The UFC has apparently released Jon Fitch. Weird.......

did anyone watch bellator last night?
almost every fight on the card ended in a KO including king mo getting destroyed with a spinning back fist lol ( maybe he will learn now that he isnt roy jones jr or mayweather and needs to keep his hands up in MMA) Video: Emanuel Newton knocks out 'King Mo' Lawal at Bellator 90 | News*–*MMAjunkie.com |

No way, GSP sells way too many fights. GSP has the stand up skill to have exciting fights, but usually takes the safer route once he senses the slightest bit of trouble in a fight.
|
Indeed he does, but that is because he is champ and people remember the days leading up to the day he became champ. You take the belt away and and the fame that came with it he is in the same shoes as Fitch. I admit I still buy his fights, but I buy them to see him lose. He has become a decision machine. As GSP once said to a great fighter, " I am not impressed with your performance." To be honest I haven't been impressed with his in quite sometime. He fights not to lose, not to win. He doesn't want any of Johny Hendricks. That is who I have marked taking his title not Nick Diaz. Unless Nick can get passed his wanting to stand and box the whole time. GSP will run around like Condit did or lay on top of him to grind out a decision. Diaz has to instigate the fight and dictate each aspect. If not it's headed to a decision.
Think about this when was the last time GSP finished a fight?

But the difference with GSP is that he doesn't do that because he has to, he does it because he wants to. I don't doubt that he can win fights standing up, but when he senses he's in trouble he goes back to what he's best at. He's a smart fighter and he doesn't want to risk losing the belt.
|
Just giving you a hard time. His last fight with Condit was actually a really good fight. But he will not shake his current image until he ends another fight in an exciting fashion. Maybe him hating Diaz will make him throw with bad intentions again. Or work extra hard at getting a submission instead of safely grinding it out to a decision.
|
Oh trust me I was right there with you before his last 2-3 fights. I think GSP is taking this fight personal so I think he will work for a finish and get it.
|
nobodies watching the UFC tonight? i mean im on the fence of renting the PPV or watching it somewhere.

I'm always on a media lockout because I don't watch the events until the day after. My wife usually works so we make it an event for Sunday.

We still have 3 episodes of TUF to get caught up on, and we haven't even started watching Bellator... too busy for tv.
|
I haven't really ever watched Bellator, but looks like I probably should. Gotta put it on the DVR schedule.
|
I've decided to buy the fight tonight. Decent card

So predictions? I think Rousey wins by 1st round armbar and Machida wins by TKO.
|

Dan Henderson TKO though. Machida fights scared and too cautious. He never engages at all. Dan will charge him and put the beat down on. Second round. |

Great fight for Urijah
Can't stand Machida. Fights like a coward. Ronda with arm bar. Got to love it. Merry me? |
Machida is a karate fighter, he doesn't have to charge like a bull lol. Everyone style is different, no coward can join and fight in the UFC man

I don't think he's a coward, but actually an expert counter-striker. That's just his style and he's very good at it. He caught Hendo with a lot of knees and kicks to the body when he would try to charge. He went on the attack at the end of the fight when he knew he had to become the aggressor and landed some good shots.
Rousey with the 1st round armbar was just amazing. I was more surprised that she survived the submission at the beginning of the fight with her face all purple. |
Disappointing for Hendo. Now Machida can get choked out standing up again. He will be scared in this rematch. That is why he was going to drop to middleweight before this fight and becoming the number 1 contender.
The main event was good. I thought Carmouche would at least get it out of the first round. But nope another first round arm bar. You only have to defend one thing. Don't give up an arm bar. I wonder if she has to buy Rousey a hamburger now. And what is this BS about Aldo ducking Pettis? He didn't duck Edgar saying he didn't deserve the fight coming off two losses. Get in there and fight. Quickly losing respect for Aldo. |
Yeah that was definitely weird for Aldo, didn't see that one coming.
|

yeah I dont get that.. i mean pettis is on a tear and he is more than deserving even if its at a class below what he normally fights at. hr ended the WEC as champ defeating a current UFC champ and never got the UFC shot he deserved as he fell victim to the edgar rematch fiasco and the he got guida(ed) out . thats not were you loose but where guida frustrates the **** out of you for 15 mins and you end up down on points lol. but since then man he has looked awesome and on of my favs of the lower weights. I think this will still happen in the end and it will just add to the storyline as fighters dont pick and choose but yeah thats weird that he would refused to fight someone especially when the competition at 145 is a bit shallow at the moment |
Dana White already said the fight is happening regardless of whether Aldo wants it or not. I don't think he'd be willing to get stripped of his title over it.
I mean it's one thing when Anderson Silva says he doesn't want to fight someone like Weidman because he only wants big fights. He's getting close to the end of his career, he's cleaned out his division, and the only really big fights for him are super fights with other champions. Aldo vs Pettis is pretty much a super fight with the potential to set up another super fight with the winner of Henderson vs Melendez. There's too much money to be made there to not have this fight. |
Who's ready to see GSP pick apart Diaz? GSP been having a problem finishing people but in this case I hope it goes the distance with GSP putting the pounding on his face like he did with Josh K. Put it would be nice to see a submission.
|
I would love to see GSP KO Diaz.
|
It appears that Aldo has changed his mind about fighting Pettis. Fight should be sometime in August.
|
Yea, something wasn't adding up I think it was lost in translation. He is on record as saying that he didn't want to give Pettis the shot right after giving Edgar the shot if he can't have his shot at the lightweight champion. So if Aldo beats Pettis he gets Bendo or whoever has the belt after August. It will be tough for him to get by Pettis, but if he does I think he will be the third man ever to hold the belt in two different weight classes. He will be in good company with Randy Couture and BJ Penn.

Aldo vs Bendo would be a great fight. Battle of the leg kicks :icon17: |
