When's Overeem coming back?
|
I think he already has a fight scheduled IIRC. BRB gonna go check into it.
|
Yup he's fighting bigfoot Silva at UFC 156.
|
Nice, if he wins I'd really like to see him vs JDS or Cain
|
Yeah as long as he keeps off the roids. :ugh2:

have you ever tried roids? I found a cheap legal way to get them lol |
No and I'm never going to either. :ugh2:
|
Overeem vs Mir might be a good fight too if JDS/Velasquez winner gets injured.

I got one a long time ago I accidentally got poison ivy all over my body Quote:

I was yelling at the TV during their first fight on Fox. Take him down! Instead he kept circling and circling and then JDS lands one and its over. Surely he learned from that mistake. |
It's on this weekend. Pulling for Cain. I have lots of respect for both. I always favor fighters with wrestling background. And that's exactly what Cain will need to use.
|
JDS will take care of business again. Maybe not as quick as last time, but he will come out with the win. The rest of the card looks pretty lame though.
|
i agree i got JDS all the way
also just a heads up CBSSPORTS network is showing the annual dream 18 japanese MMA new years event combined with glory kickboxing heavyweight tourney at 10pm on dec 31. its always a tradition for me to watch the dream new years event.. pretty decent fights on the card this year |
Come on guys. IMO all JDS has is a right hand that he just happen to land. Cain is going to take him down for a TKO. JDS also has no stamina so if it gets to the second round its for sure over. Don't forget JDS couldn't finish Roy Nelson that time.

I am fine with either guy winning, they are both beasts. |

dont get me wrong i really feel cain has a chance and with overeem not being able to fight this month really is the #1 contender. Im a big fan of him and if he comes out there like a man possessed like he did against bigfoot then who knows. but i really feel JDS is so much equal parts precision and devastating power its hard to to put a stop to him. cains only hope is a early take down with some vicious ground and pound. If he does win i will be happy as i like him just as much as junior. I felt bad for him when he sort of dropped the ball on the biggest stage at that first fox event. so its a win win for me as either is gonna get reem'd this spring. just hope not another 50 sec fight or whatever that first one was as i want to feel like im getting my money worth as honestly the under card is a bit weak but hopefully only in names and they are some good fights all around
|
:iagree:
|
If Cain wins, I'll be looking forward to their 3rd match up in a year or two. I think either of them could handle Overeem....which is clearly gonna be the next match up for the HW title.
|
Roy Nelson is bound to be up there soon. I like him. His only loss in the UFC was to JDS in a decision. I believe.

He's got a ridiculous chin, but he also lost to Werdum by decision back in February.
|
roy also lost to Mir he is top 5 at this point.. i would like to see him fight daniel cormier next
carwin went the distance too against JDS but the ref should have stopped it in the 1st as he had his orbital socket broke |
I would think Nelson vs. Pat Barry would be an interesting fight. I don't see it happening though.

Edit: 100% agree with you about Nelson. Hard to see him get a title shot again, especially considering his relationship with Dana. |

The Jim Miller Jon Lauzon fight was a great bloody battle.
|
Give it to Cain and JDS. Two tough guys by far.
But as I thought Cain FTW cause he just had the stamina. He pressed the fight from the get go and JDS just gassed at the end of the first. Amazing it went 5 rounds for a HW bout. JDS never gave up. Much props. Now I want to see Cain take Overeem retarded a$$ out. |
i cannot believe JDS survived that first round shot that was like a fedor to brett rodgers KO shot he took. fight was pretty much over after that as he never recovered. i have to admit i was surprised it turned into a beating like that. im sitting here watching cain talk on the fuel post show and besides a few scratches he doesnt even look like he fought tonight
co main was great rest of the card sucked except for the Leonard Garcia fight.. he got screwed in the decision though I sense cain vs overeem near cinco de mayo weekend... my boy is gonna put one of those knees on cain and take him out |

Uh no. I have no respect for Overeem. Especially after getting busted for illegal substance. That doesn't say much for his hole past. He's just another big guy with no stamina. Funny how he was a LW class and over the years he's 260lbs. He has lost to guys you never you never would of thought of (Chuck Liddell for one). But we'll see in time. That's all we can say. I just see something in Cain that makes him surperior. JDS did take some big shots. His face was like a meat grinder. |
That was an awesome effort by Velasquez, but JDS showed a lot of heart going through that fight. I'm amazed he wasn't finished after that hit in the first round. He definitely needs to work on his cardio/conditioning before his inevitable rematch with Velasquez. Might be a year or two down the road, but it will happen. I think Velasquez will handle Overeem, especially when he's off those roids.
|
Thankfully those last two fights saved the card.
Miller/Lauzon was quite a war, Joe has so much heart, same with Dos Santos, I didn't think he'd make it out of the 1st round, glad he did though as I had money on it going past the first round. Cain set a pace that Junior had no idea how to deal with I actually am an Overeem fan but Cain is not a good match up for him, I want to see what he does against Big Foot first. |
Silva just signed a new 10 fight deal with the UFC. Looks like Bisping will get the next shot at him if he can beat Belfort later this month.

That sould be interesting, I really don't see anyone at MW taking that belt off Anderson anytime soon.
I've always wanted to see Bisping fight him though so I'm up for that. |
Bisping will get destroyed just like everyone else. Honestly the only one who even has a chance is probably Belfort and they're not giving him another shot any time soon.
|
Anyone else watching UFC on FX 7 right now? I almost forgot it was on today.

Didn't really care much about the people on the card. |
