Nuggets are ballin' without 'Mello for sure but I wouldn't put my money on them against two time champs come playoff pressure time.

phelan 04-11-2011 10:26 AM

nobody's sleeping on the nuggets, but the thunder can handle them.

-westbrook / harden / maynor are more than a match for lawson / afflalo / felton.

-KD over JR smith / wil chandler anyday. i'm ignoring gallo b/c he's useless.

-perkins and air congo (read: ibaka) provide more consistent inside presence than "OH MY KNEES!!!" kmart and "OMFG I STILL HAVE CLEAN SKIN MUST TATTOO NOWWWWW" birdman andersen.

-X-factor will be someone like al harrington, who will shoot you into or out of the game.

THE BEST PART OF THAT SERIES: having a little chuckle everytime an announcer goes "thunder nuggets". i find that hilarious. :rofl2:

lol two time champs come playoff pressure time...how about that 5 game losing streak, guys? there's no such thing as flipping switch...hell, my FRAIL BLAZERS can whup ur asses up and down the court right now. that's just sad.

Waiz 04-11-2011 02:17 PM

It's called veteran savy brocifer!

This close to the playoffs the smartest thing for the Lakers to do is take it a tad easy and wait for the playoffs. The NBA season is too long anyway!

for any other team that's true but not for the Lakers, they actually seem to be exactly like an on-off switch...After All-Star game - ON after last sunday's loss and SA win - OFF

lol we'll have to wait and see, I'm all for maximum effort all the time and hate it when they pull this crap but it seems like Phil doesn't give a sh*t and I've learned not to question his attitude over the years, seems to know what he's doing.

can't believe you're a Porkland fan :shakes head:

phelan did you really say Gallo is useless?

He's a Blazers fan so sometimes if the Ganja is too strong he gets confused :icon17:

gallo is not a bust like darko or someone, but for such a high draft position, he's pretty awful.

however, i do reserve the right to amend my judgment if he stays in denver longer. he's got a whole new game since he was freed from d'antoni's all 3 pt offense.

Not a fan of the Lakers but Pau Gallo is a decent player.

However, Phil Jackson will not allow that mismatch to happen again.

KingZee 04-20-2011 12:34 PM

:shakes head: Lakers better wake up tonight

Waiz 04-20-2011 05:06 PM

The phantom foul calls last night didn't help either, you guys are tough at home though so it's still a series!

phelan 04-20-2011 06:31 PM

:tiphat: sure did...with such a prestigious team you just come to expect their best every night out in the playoffs. They look intimidating as hell on the court, I'd hate to be a seven seed playing 'em right now.

Last night's game was so fun to watch, Bynum was dominate, Kobe was killer and Gasol finally found his niche!

phelan 04-23-2011 06:05 PM

blazers offense = fail...until...

b.roy is BACK! baaahahahah!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YneamUqN1w

i'm still shaking from watching that finale!

2-2 back to dallas. BRING IT ON MAVS!!!

southercadesi 05-03-2011 01:31 AM

Well tonight was upsetting...

Waiz 05-03-2011 01:39 AM

Don't worry about it, the Mavs have no chance to win the series it's just a formality.

As a Dallas fan, I obviously can't agree with you, but I will say that after last night's game, this series is probably going to be fantastic!

It was a good game, but I'm not worried at all ;)

:tiphat: to you for this game but brace yourself for a seriously angry and motivated Laker team for game 2.

phelan 05-03-2011 05:35 PM

More like - brace for a PISSED OFF Kobe and a very, very angry Pau Gasol.

He's worked too long to shed the Spanish Marshmallow tag, just to lose it in Game 1 against the perennial chokers Mavs

Finally I can give you one of these for a post about basketball

Did you catch Pau say "puta madre" when he got fouled hard last night? :rofl2:

wishihadnav 05-03-2011 06:59 PM

we threw that game away lastnight...we'll close this out in 6.

southercadesi 05-05-2011 12:37 AM

We'll take the road games and even it up at 2. Just need to step it up the D and play like we did after all-star break.

Waiz 05-05-2011 02:03 AM

Still not worried! ;)

KingZee 05-05-2011 02:39 AM

Waiz, you gotta go into the locker room and shed some of your confidence on these guys...I can't believe Bynum told the media the team has "trust issues". This guy thinks he's Phil stirring sh*t up through the media.

Time to hope Dallas chokes again and Cuban buys the Dodgers.

Dallas is a good team but the Lakers biggest opponent is themselves.

Too much jump shooting/3 pointers and not enough inside-out always equals a loss for the Lakers.

If anyone can come back from 0-2 it would be this team

phelan 05-05-2011 12:07 PM

(post vomit)

Lakers defense = decent....then JJ F*CKING BAREA HAPPENED. LOL pick and roll D! Fisher needs to retire soon, his legs must be going "OH M GOD I CAN'T MOVE THIS QUICK ANYMORE STOP PLEAAAASE"

Also - defense on Dirk. There's no defending that "HOLY F*KING SH*T HOW DID THAT SHOT JUST GO IN" one-legged top of the key jumpshot over Pau. I had to blink a few times and rewatch that, it was just stupid. STUPID. Overall, however, Pau can't guard him. At all. Lamar needs to step up big time in this matchup because he's the only one that seems to have a snowball's chance in hell of stopping Dirk.

I watched the game yesterday, and honestly, the Lakers never got out of second gear. Or first gear, for that matter. MOTM (lol soccer term) goes to Bynum for 18 pts and 13 rebs and helping the Lakers NOT get blown the f*ck out on their home court.

Wais - how can they work an inside-out game when Gasoft misses chippies all day long haha. Bynum is a pure power game which is supposed to balance out Gasol, but it's not working right now, they crowd the Kid and leave Gasol out to shoot a lame shot from 16.

Oh, btw? Stay classy Los Angeles. Way to SUPPORT your team.

At least we don't boo our team off the court at the Rose Garden. We just...get a lil' quieter. Case in point - 23 pts down to the SAME MAVS WHO ARE TRASHING YOU GUYS.

I bet we can make some money right now:

FOR SALE - Brandon Roy. Clutch when your clutch isn't clutchy enough.

(CAUTION: Use sparingly.)

...

whew, okay, need to find some paper towels to clean up this mess.

Waiz 05-05-2011 01:28 PM

Holy shittt! Someone is bored at work :icon17:

phelan 05-05-2011 01:37 PM

what? i vomited that out in like 3 minutes lol
