Torre* and it wont happen

Why not? He's not managing and his last team was LA. If he's really happy in a desk job for MLB then your probably right.

The other managers out there are:

Bobby Valentine
LaRussa (if he'd leave ST L)

Because he is happy doing what he is doing nowfor MLB . I don't think he will ever manage again.

LaRussa is not leaving St. L. Bobby Valentine is probably going to be hire by the Soxs.

I think they are waiting to see what else shakes up. Bobby hasn't managed in MLB since 2002 and in Japan since 2009. I think if his rep was good in MLB he'd already had a job. I know that the sports writers like Bobby and bring his name up every time a team fires their manager.

So Bobby V is the manager of the Sox and Terry is now a sports analyst.

The Sox are looking better is spring this year, but we'll see. Can't start worse than last years 0-8.

Think about that and how people say games in April don't count. If the Sox had gone 1-7 then they would have won the wild card and wouldn't had needed a 1 game playoff with TB. :shakes head:

2012 baseball season starts in 2 days!

MyZ4U2C 04-02-2012 09:03 PM

Gotta be a little concerned with the back end of the rotation for the sox, and how the players don't seem to be adjusting to Bobby V. But they will be right in the hunt....

Go Yankees!

Lemers 04-02-2012 09:14 PM

It's the rotation and now the bullpen. But let's hope they don't go 0-8 again.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. A win in April counts as much as a win in September.

As long as the players can put up with or adjust to Bobby, Sox will do fine. Lot of hit and run/ running with V. Bringing that national league feel to Boston. Of course I'm hoping they don't do well being a Yankee fan but I know they will lol...players are hungry to put last year behind them... I think Bard is better in the pen and Aceves is still a sleeper arm for long relief or to let the Sox get back in the game

Red Sox Injuries are already going to cause problems

pitchers
Chris Carpenter
Bobby Jenks
Rich Hill
Daisuke Matsuzaka
John Lackey
Andrew Miller

Outfielders
Carl Crawford
Ryan Kalish

Bailey (closer) had his thumb looked at and may need surgery. He's going for a second opinion.

Josh Beckett also had his thumb looked at, but is expected not to miss a start.

0 and 1 for the Red Sox :shakes head: it would have been nice to have a solid closer.

And they are losing to Detroit 2-0 in the 1st inning today.

Noooooooo! It's not true!

shadoquad 04-07-2012 06:15 PM

It's that time of year again for me to point out that the Orioles are in first place in the AL East, for the moment.
