Yeah, you're right on that one. They might have to eat up some of that contract money and dump him to another team, because he is worthless.

Or just move his a$$ to the bullpen, bring him in when the team is like 10 runs ahead....:ugh2:

Cannot believe that Boston & NY are losing to the worst two teams on the AL East. :shakes head:

Lemers 09-08-2011 10:06 PM

Boston's in a bad streak right now. I need them to get hit again.

Well taking my statement back, I really didn't expected with the off season deals for the NYY to get this accomplished. TB still trying to make the run, Boston is falling apart and the Halos are not so far back in the Wild Card race.

However, The Yankees are the AL East Division Champions!

The red sox are dead on arrival. They'll be lucky to even make the playoffs. Even if they do it really won't matter if they keep playing like this. They'll go 0 of 3 in the 1st round.

You never know in the playoffs. See it this way, the Philis have lost 7 in a row after clinching the Division, Verlander of Detroit got beat last night. Plus the biggest tool even that is from the Yankees AJ Bernett threw a great game today.

So in the playoffs anything is possible! ;)

with a 1 game lead in the wild card race over TB the Red Sox are in controll of their own destiny. But it's still too close to call and I find myself having to go for the Yankees who are playing TB. I want the Red Sox to go 3-0 and earn it on their own, but what ever the Sox do over the next 3 games I need at least a match from the Yankees to keep the Sox 1 game ahead of TB.

F'n Yankees suck but I need them to beat up on TB

blue660r01 09-26-2011 04:32 PM

Yes the Yankees suck which is why they are 1st in the AL.

Lemers 09-26-2011 04:37 PM

They suck as a general rule not a certain period of time.

Well I believe that TB and the Suxs are tied for the Wild Card! :bowrofl: :roflpuke2: :bowrofl: :roflpuke2: :bowrofl:

blue660r01 09-26-2011 09:40 PM

Actually Tampa > Boston right now because Tampa is 12-6 vs Boston this year. Tiebreaker yo

Or would there be a playoff? I forget. :wtf:

Lemers 09-26-2011 10:54 PM

There is a playoff for an actual playoff spot (1 game) if needed. The tie breaker is used when the division leader and wild card are from the same division to determine the actual division champ. But both are in the playoff.

BLUF: In this case is TB and Red Sox tie a 1 fame playoff will be played for the wild card.

AL East Division Champs are the Yankees!

So I'm ......

Lemers 09-27-2011 10:04 PM

I was taking rules in general. So this year there will be a playoff game if TB and Red Sox tie. Had there been a tie between the yanks and sox for both the division and wild card the team that won the season would be seated as the division champs and the other would be seated as the wild card.

Lemers 09-28-2011 11:17 AM

Just for today

Go Yankees

Oh yeah... if that is the case.

Sorry for your Red Soxs.... :wtf2:

PapoZalsa 10-06-2011 02:07 PM

Texas is the only one safe for now in the playoffs.

Good Luck to my Yankees tonight!

Lemers 10-06-2011 03:04 PM

I have been going for the Rangers since the Red Sox fired Tito

Lemers 10-06-2011 11:14 PM

Good job Detroit and Texas going to the ALCS! I'm going for the Rangers!

Well I didn't expect the Yankees to reach that far. I said it since the off season the pitching got them at the end.

Anyway great season with a lot of History on the books for the NYY for Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

Hopefully the management will get a clue now from the playoffs, they need pitching and get rid off the dead weight. Start grooming prospects like Montero and Nunez.

I will keep watching the playoffs but I'm not jumping on anyone bandwagon. ;)

I don't think he was fired, he just made a decision without thinking on the future. On the other hand I think Girardi is the one that is going to get fired for the poor managing last night and during the entire playoffs..

blue660r01 10-07-2011 10:29 PM

Yankees need to stop buying and go homegrown again

Lemers 10-08-2011 12:09 AM

Yes the Red Sox fired Tito. And the Yankees wouldn't fire G until atleast the Red Sox hire a new Manager. The Yankees wouldn't want to see "their" manager in a Red Sox uniform. But could you imagine the yanks hiring Tito and the Red Sox hiring G. LOL that would be interesting.

I want the Sox to go after Torri. ;)

blue660r01 10-08-2011 01:56 AM

Torre* and it wont happen

Lemers 10-08-2011 07:25 AM

Why not? He's not managing and his last team was LA. If he's really happy in a desk job for MLB then your probably right.

The other managers out there are:

Bobby Valentine
LaRussa (if he'd leave ST L)

Because he is happy doing what he is doing nowfor MLB . I don't think he will ever manage again.

LaRussa is not leaving St. L. Bobby Valentine is probably going to be hire by the Soxs.

Lemers 10-09-2011 08:42 PM

I think they are waiting to see what else shakes up. Bobby hasn't managed in MLB since 2002 and in Japan since 2009. I think if his rep was good in MLB he'd already had a job. I know that the sports writers like Bobby and bring his name up every time a team fires their manager.

Lemers 04-01-2012 09:55 AM

So Bobby V is the manager of the Sox and Terry is now a sports analyst.

The Sox are looking better is spring this year, but we'll see. Can't start worse than last years 0-8.

Think about that and how people say games in April don't count. If the Sox had gone 1-7 then they would have won the wild card and wouldn't had needed a 1 game playoff with TB. :shakes head:

Lemers 04-02-2012 09:00 PM

2012 baseball season starts in 2 days!

MyZ4U2C 04-02-2012 09:03 PM

Gotta be a little concerned with the back end of the rotation for the sox, and how the players don't seem to be adjusting to Bobby V. But they will be right in the hunt....

Go Yankees!

Lemers 04-02-2012 09:14 PM

It's the rotation and now the bullpen. But let's hope they don't go 0-8 again.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. A win in April counts as much as a win in September.

MyZ4U2C 04-02-2012 09:21 PM

As long as the players can put up with or adjust to Bobby, Sox will do fine. Lot of hit and run/ running with V. Bringing that national league feel to Boston. Of course I'm hoping they don't do well being a Yankee fan but I know they will lol...players are hungry to put last year behind them... I think Bard is better in the pen and Aceves is still a sleeper arm for long relief or to let the Sox get back in the game

Lemers 04-02-2012 09:41 PM

Red Sox Injuries are already going to cause problems

pitchers
Chris Carpenter
Bobby Jenks
Rich Hill
Daisuke Matsuzaka
John Lackey
Andrew Miller

Outfielders
Carl Crawford
Ryan Kalish

Bailey (closer) had his thumb looked at and may need surgery. He's going for a second opinion.

Josh Beckett also had his thumb looked at, but is expected not to miss a start.

Lemers 04-05-2012 07:24 PM

0 and 1 for the Red Sox :shakes head: it would have been nice to have a solid closer.

Noooooooo! It's not true!

shadoquad 04-07-2012 06:15 PM

It's that time of year again for me to point out that the Orioles are in first place in the AL East, for the moment.
