You are behind the time, last night NYY swept the Indians.

Dead serious. It's only downhill from here, and we know from experience.

I loved the series here in Arizona. He had one HR, but whatever... embarrassed himself the rest of the series! (I may hold a little grudge for the way he played and acted out here in Phoenix, so take that into account)

Also, how is BJ Upton in the top 10 in AS voting? AS voting is a ******* joke anymore, no wonder nobody watches it. :icon23:

The Dbacks won last night, but it shouldn't have gone 14 innings. Such a blatant, blown call at third (that ESPN refuses to show it in the 3 seconds they air anything about the Dbacks beating the best team in the league and we also happen to have the hottest hitter in the NL...). :shakes head:  Whatever, I guess I can live with a good team flying under the radar. :ugh2:

Okay, that's my rant for the morning. I'm still fuming over that call, even though we still won. :icon17:

I gave Justin the benefit of the doubt for 2 weeks since my last post. Here is how I feel now :wtf2:   :eekdance:

Good call on him. I agree BJ shouldn't be allowed within 100 miles of the allstar game :icon17:

Won't even watch it, don't care - it's meaningless.

That being said, NL.

And, Goldschmidt deserves to start 1B over Votto. Parra deserves to start, and Corbin should be there too.

PapoZalsa 06-25-2013 08:22 PM

I meant comments on the AL or NL All Stars Teams. Not who will win....

I always watch it because it was a tradition with my father R.I.P, he knew a lot about Baseball as a whole from Double A to MLB.

Haboob 06-26-2013 08:39 AM

Still, the AS teams are going to be a joke. Some undeserving people will be on them just because they are popular.

It's just a nice mid-season break from baseball I guess - though nothing else is on during that time. :shakes head:

At least something good for the NYY this season and also another milestone by another pitcher in MLB:

"The Juice: C.C. Sabathia earns 200th career victory; and Max Scherzer improves to 13-0".

All Star game isn't what it once was. It is a joke.

Younger whippersnappers may not remember when there was no interleague play. That's when it was fun.

That was also before free agency was as rampant and more players stayed on one team their entire career.

It was great to see the AL stars play the NL stars, the only game that would happen outside of the world series.

That's when the All Star Game mattered.

Yeah, back in the days you was almost sure who was going to be playing in the All Star Game because like you said players stay with the teams longer and established reputation at their position.

Haboob 07-05-2013 10:47 AM

I remember pre-interleague a bit, but I wish it was gone still. I also wish the DH was gone.

And what I'm about to say below, most people may not agree with me, but it's how I feel:
( Click to show/hide )
I also wish that the steroid era would end. There are too many homeruns. What ever happened to small ball, singles, doubles, triples, etc. Or even pitchers duels? Man I love pitchers duels.

Seems like every time someone scores, it's a HR. I hate it.

Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist (I don't even like our retractable roof, I'd rather play outside baseball, but whatever).

I wish MLB would push the fences back another 50-75ft at minimum. Or build them up as high as the green monster all the way around the outfield. :icon17:

2nd half, make your predictions.

Trade deadline also......

Haboob 07-22-2013 08:27 AM

Dbacks need to make a pitching move or four. If we do, we finish 1st in the West.

If we don't, we let the fgt Dodgers take over.

dennis26 07-24-2013 01:01 PM

Yanks need to dump Arod. He has been the biggest waste of money.

He's about to be banned, so no worries.
