I remeber when 200 wins was only a step towards 300. Are we going to lower our standards and consider 200 a HOF career?

Haboob 05-01-2013 08:32 AM

Pitchers have changed.

It's unfortunate. You no longer have those horses that can throw CG's (with the exception of three to four, it used to be a lot more). You no longer have those brute power pitchers (such as RJ51) either.

200 wins is going to be the new milestone. We won't see another 300 winner in our lifetime I don't think. Not with how much sports are being sissied up.

Lemers 05-01-2013 03:29 PM

I think 300 is very possible even without getting a 20 win season

The hardest part for a MLB pitcher will be longevity.

17 years ave 30 GA and 18 wins a season with 12 losses gives you 306 wins and 204 loss at 600% winning percentage.

I think the game has changed, the season is too long and they keep adding games. Players and especially pitchers get worn out.

Also any performance enhancer will work for some years then eat there bodies away.

There only a few dominants pitchers in the game now, compare the players now with the old ones totally different.

Now everything is about power. Before was about small ball and ability.

The days of a players like Carl Ripken Jr. are over.

My head is about to explode.

Our bullpen (Hernandez and Putz) has blown ANOTHER save. That's 10 this season.

Unreal. I just don't get why Gibson sticks with these guys over and over. It boggles the mind. It's like he isn't seeing what is going on.

The definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Kirk Gibson has gone insane.

KC has not been on the map since George Brett retired.

And they won't be on the radar in September.

"Robinson Cano opened the sixth innining today against the A's with his 344th career double, tying Mickey Mantle for eighth place in Yankees history".

That's an achievement.

The wheels have officially fallen off.

Lost a series to the Padres. :shakes head:

Almost makes me want to sell my tickets and stop watching. Seems like nothing is being done to remedy the issue: Our "ace" sucks, we have Brandon McCarthy (sucks more), and our bullpen sucks the most (aside from three guys). :(

But I guess I'll hang in there.

Lemers 05-06-2013 06:44 AM

Red Sox dropped 3 to the rangers. :(.

I know you can't win them all but a sweep just isn't good.

Haboob 05-07-2013 07:47 PM

Happ tried to do his best Brandon McCarthy impression by blocking a line drive with his head:

Swept by the Giants. :shakes head:

Lost 2/3 to the Padres. :shakes head: :facepalm:

Swept the Doyers. :happydance:

"Robinson Cano tallied hit No. 1,500 today".
