The wheels have officially fallen off.

Lost a series to the Padres. :shakes head:

Almost makes me want to sell my tickets and stop watching. Seems like nothing is being done to remedy the issue: Our "ace" sucks, we have Brandon McCarthy (sucks more), and our bullpen sucks the most (aside from three guys). :(

But I guess I'll hang in there.

Lemers 05-06-2013 06:44 AM

Red Sox dropped 3 to the rangers. :(.

I know you can't win them all but a sweep just isn't good.

Haboob 05-07-2013 07:47 PM

Happ tried to do his best Brandon McCarthy impression by blocking a line drive with his head:

Swept by the Giants. :shakes head:

Lost 2/3 to the Padres. :shakes head: :facepalm:

Swept the Doyers. :happydance:

PapoZalsa 05-09-2013 08:31 PM

"Robinson Cano tallied hit No. 1,500 today".

Haboob 05-16-2013 08:46 AM

Won the series vs. the Braves.

Justin Upton showed exactly why we traded him. :rofl2: Man, I love watching him struggle. Before it was painful when he was hurting our team, now I see it from everyone else's point of view! :bowrofl:

Haboob 05-18-2013 08:03 PM

Ugh, we have the umpiring crew that messed up and were suspended last week.

They called an out on a foul ball that Ozuna caught after it bounced off the wall.

Now, less than three feet & in perfect position they missed a clear out on a pick off throw.

:shakes head:

They need to be fired. Or sent back down to the minors and back to umpiring school.

PapoZalsa 05-20-2013 05:45 PM

Let see how NYY are going to do with some regulars coming back. So far so good with the replacements.

Lemers 05-20-2013 05:47 PM

Maybe the replace nuts are better than the old guys coming back.

Well people were 100% sure that by now the NYY was going to be in dead last place. THEY WERE WRONG!!!

Anyway Who knows, let me get my crystal ball out. :rofl2:

Haboob 05-20-2013 10:28 PM

Patrick Corbin, 5th in our rotation, but he's 8-0. He's our ace.

shadoquad 05-20-2013 10:31 PM

Ugh what a loss to the yanks. Difference was closers... hall of fame shut down vs. Recently troubled...:(

Pitching definitely hasn't been good, starting rotation, bullpen and now Johnson. I have faith they will get it turned around.

First base ump was a mess. That's about as mad as I have seen Buck.

I agree, the whole MLB umpire crew has been terrible this yr.

Roadster4Us 05-21-2013 08:14 PM

Another Yanks-Birds nail bitter. Good game.

Lemers 05-21-2013 08:27 PM

Red Sox are starting a bad trend of being streaky. They win 5 then lose 5. That won't win any playoff chances if they can't get it together and stay consistent.

PapoZalsa 05-25-2013 06:05 PM

Does NYY needs anymore injuries, SRLY! :shakes head:

PapoZalsa 05-31-2013 06:55 PM

This sucks, SRLY the Mets!!!! :shakes head: Hope is better this weekend with Tex and Youk back.

But we need PITCHING!!!!!

Not sure if you're serious about Justin struggling? BJ on the other hand is struggling. But Justin is playing damn well. Best player in the braves lineup so far.

Edit: I agree he isn't playing as well as he was at the beginning of the year, but too early to say he is struggling. BJ on the other hand, dear god. Does anyone accept returns lol

Dead serious. It's only downhill from here, and we know from experience.

I loved the series here in Arizona. He had one HR, but whatever... embarrassed himself the rest of the series! (I may hold a little grudge for the way he played and acted out here in Phoenix, so take that into account)

Also, how is BJ Upton in the top 10 in AS voting? AS voting is a ******* joke anymore, no wonder nobody watches it. :icon23:

The Dbacks won last night, but it shouldn't have gone 14 innings. Such a blatant, blown call at third (that ESPN refuses to show it in the 3 seconds they air anything about the Dbacks beating the best team in the league and we also happen to have the hottest hitter in the NL...). :shakes head:  Whatever, I guess I can live with a good team flying under the radar. :ugh2:

Okay, that's my rant for the morning. I'm still fuming over that call, even though we still won. :icon17:

They blew it last night too...

Sweep the Yankees, lose 2/3 (I think?) to the Fish (:shakes head:), and then last night.

You are behind the time, last night NYY swept the Indians.

I gave Justin the benefit of the doubt for 2 weeks since my last post. Here is how I feel now :wtf2:   :eekdance:

Good call on him. I agree BJ shouldn't be allowed within 100 miles of the allstar game :icon17:

All Stars Game, comments AL or NL

Won't even watch it, don't care - it's meaningless.

That being said, NL.

And, Goldschmidt deserves to start 1B over Votto. Parra deserves to start, and Corbin should be there too.

PapoZalsa 06-25-2013 08:22 PM

I meant comments on the AL or NL All Stars Teams. Not who will win....

I always watch it because it was a tradition with my father R.I.P, he knew a lot about Baseball as a whole from Double A to MLB.

Haboob 06-26-2013 08:39 AM

Still, the AS teams are going to be a joke. Some undeserving people will be on them just because they are popular.

It's just a nice mid-season break from baseball I guess - though nothing else is on during that time. :shakes head:

PapoZalsa 07-04-2013 09:14 AM

At least something good for the NYY this season and also another milestone by another pitcher in MLB:

"The Juice: C.C. Sabathia earns 200th career victory; and Max Scherzer improves to 13-0".

shadoquad 07-04-2013 10:18 AM

All Star game isn't what it once was. It is a joke.

Younger whippersnappers may not remember when there was no interleague play. That's when it was fun.

That was also before free agency was as rampant and more players stayed on one team their entire career.

It was great to see the AL stars play the NL stars, the only game that would happen outside of the world series.

That's when the All Star Game mattered.

Yeah, back in the days you was almost sure who was going to be playing in the All Star Game because like you said players stay with the teams longer and established reputation at their position.

Haboob 07-05-2013 10:47 AM

I remember pre-interleague a bit, but I wish it was gone still. I also wish the DH was gone.

And what I'm about to say below, most people may not agree with me, but it's how I feel:
( Click to show/hide )
I also wish that the steroid era would end. There are too many homeruns. What ever happened to small ball, singles, doubles, triples, etc. Or even pitchers duels? Man I love pitchers duels.

Seems like every time someone scores, it's a HR. I hate it.

Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist (I don't even like our retractable roof, I'd rather play outside baseball, but whatever).

I wish MLB would push the fences back another 50-75ft at minimum. Or build them up as high as the green monster all the way around the outfield. :icon17:

PapoZalsa 07-19-2013 07:52 PM

2nd half, make your predictions.

Trade deadline also......

Haboob 07-22-2013 08:27 AM

Dbacks need to make a pitching move or four. If we do, we finish 1st in the West.

If we don't, we let the fgt Dodgers take over.

dennis26 07-24-2013 01:01 PM

Yanks need to dump Arod. He has been the biggest waste of money.

A ban for Arod can't come soon enough.

Looks like the only way would be banned for life, nobody wants him.

madwi 08-03-2013 10:31 PM

Scherzer looked really good tonight! I hope we don't lose Jhonny Peralta in the bans/suspensions.
