In my heyday, I could chug a full pint glass (16 oz) in about twice the time it took the Fox (from The Man Show). Considering he could do it in under a second, I was still incredibly fast :tiphat:

i thought more literal definition of slammed out of anger lol now with the correct context i'm ok with that now haha

RIP fox lol

back on golf talk i think its time to upgrade my driver and hybrid. only 2 clubs i didnt upgrade in the past summer or 2. last year was new irons and putter. the winter just before last spring i upgraded my wedges.

I actually purchased a pretty nice Nike putter a few years ago when I started getting my golf bag back together. However, I simply don't practice with it enough. I have good spacial visualization which should help my putting, but I tend to either rush my putting or think it over too much. The main change when I switched putters was that I'm much better about not trying to putt with my arms or muscles. I use the length of my back swing to control the speed and let the club head and gravity do the work for most putts.

I used to get so frustrated on the golf course as a kid (even though I still loved the game). Once I started drinking on the course, I stopped worrying about crappy shots as soon as I got back to the cart and my beer :icon17:

:iagree: :tiphat:

yup take the arms and wrist out and let the body just pendulum and the weight of the putter takes care of the rest.

right now my bag is:

Driver - taylormade R7
Hyb - some shitty one that came with my starter $200 bag
Irons - titleist AP2 712 3-PW
Wedges - cleveland CG14 52 and 60
Putter - titleist scotty cameron black: blade with heel shaft

see i've always been drinking on the course i didnt start golfing until i was about to be 21. i only got about 4-5 years experience so far and i had to switch from lefty to righty lol

i'm lefty and learned lefty at my aunts in FL when i was like 7 for 2 weeks never touched a club again until i was 20 and was taught righty for ease of learning.

golf and drums are about the only things i can do right handed lol

So, I demo'd some clubs over the weekend: TaylorMade RocketBladez, Callaway Razr X, Ping G25 (I think), and a Mizuno.

I think I am going to go with the TaylorMade, but the Callaway felt good as well. I was too tired by the time I got to the Mizuno, hit a few good shots then couldn't do anything... :icon17: The Ping's felt the worst, and everyone I've talked to have had nothing, but bad things to say about the Ping irons.

Anyone have the RocketBladez? Wondering what the real difference between them and the RocketBladez Max is. Doesn't seem like much when I look online.

I'm gonna head to an outdoor range and demo the clubs in more realistic conditions though, because normally I hit a six iron 170-180ish and in Golfsmith I was hitting it consistently 187-196 (a couple over 200 , but were offline). So, I'm not sure if I was just getting that much more distance going from really old TaylorMade Firesole's to the new club, graphite to steel shaft, or if the system wasn't set on the correct club.

Either way, I'm :excited: for the weather to start cooling down and playing more golf!

Happy to see Tiger getting back on track. That round on Friday was unreal - he was 9 under through 13  I'm glad they replayed it on the Golf Channel that evening

Haboob 08-06-2013 09:17 AM

I also wanted to test some Adam's clubs.

My Dad said that I should go with a Cleveland SW though, since they're one of, if not the best.

i have cleveland CG 14 52 degree and 60 degree. i like them but the titleist vokey wedges are nasty. i know i sound like a titleist fanboy but i've hit man different brands and they just feel the best.

I have gone through 3 sets of wedges (Mizuno, Titleist, Cleveland CG15s) and am now using Cleveland CG16s (50, 54, 58). I got smart and realized that the Mizuno irons I was playing were a bit too unforgiving for my skill level so I decided to find a new set. I tried every brand and didn't see too much to gain in switching. But then I tried the Cleveland CG16 Tour irons and immediately ordered a custom set. It has been a year and a half and they definitely have helped me improve my game. My next wedge and iron set will probably be Cleveland since they have worked best for me.

Hmm...

Maybe I'll have to test them out too then.

Guess I'd better get up early Saturday. Gonna be a long day of demoing.

So I demoed the Titleist AP2 along side a RocketBladez and they feel pretty much the same. The TM just needs a stiff shaft and it'll be perfect. It's also much, much cheaper than the Titleist.

Apparently though, Titleist is coming out with an AP2 replacement before Christmas, so that may drop the price on those as well.
