Lol lebron is a ******* he proved that to me last year and the year before that when he didn't even shake or congratulate when the celtics and magic when they lost to them. Then he makes an argument that it doesn't make sense to shake their hand because they have been fighting each other and they shouldn't shake their hands or something like that. Lol mma fighters and boxers always shakes and congratulate the other side win or loss because of respect for each other.

By the end of the regular season, and as the Crabs were knocking a surprisingly fiesty Bulls team out of the playoffs, everybody was rushing to compare LeBron James to Michael Jordan. Guys like John Hollinger had the advanced stats to back up these claims, and one Chicago-based writer's 'Bron-gasm was so uncontrollable that he boldy proclaimed King Crab was going to be better than MJ. Forget the fact that James has yet to sniff an NBA championship...unless you count that four-game sweep in the 2007 Finals as getting a sniff.

I don't. I mean, did you see the Eastern Conference in 2007? That was some weak sauce.

I'll be honest: I hate forecasts. I hate predictions. And I hate comparisons. I get that people don't know whether they're buying a gallon of milk unless the words "One Gallon" actually appear on the jug. Measuring sticks are important when buying dairy products or bulk candy. But honestly, comparing players always seems to minimize and diminish both parties.

Think about it. Based on the numbers, LeBron is right there with Jordan, right? And yet he is not Jordan. I mean, can you imagine MJ's Bulls taking a huge dump at home in the playoffs right after Mike accepted an MVP trophy? Would that have ever happened? No. They would have had to carry away what was left of Jordan's teammates in a bucket. A small one. So that's what I'm talking about. When you use the numbers to say James is as good as MJ, it denigrates MJ's accomplishments, and when you hold Mike's end results up to LeBron's achievements to date, it seems like James can't DO IT when it really matters, crushing anyone and everyone in his path...which more than anything else was Jordan's hallmark.

YouTube - LeBron James' jump stop/"travel" against the Boston Celtics in Game 2, 2010 Playoffs

Damn lebron needed to get a travel agent for that one.

wishihadnav 05-04-2010 09:45 PM

Time for Utah to lose again..haha.

Red370 05-04-2010 10:38 PM

now hold on one minute, i know the "jump stop" is completely legal in NCAA/HS rules, is there an NBA rule that classifies that as travelling? I do it all the time in the city league and it doesnt get called, think about it, you get 3 steps per dribble right? wouldnt jump stopping consist of 1?

ct63084 05-04-2010 10:50 PM

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think it all depends on where you pick up your dribble. But i don't know NBA always changes it's rules to cater to their superstars.

To me it's simple....the magnitude of the initial jump was ridiculous. It seemed as if he was in full flight and that to come back down made no sense. I've done/seen hopsteps a gazillion times and they never look like that...but at the same time I've never seen an athlete like Lebron either.

If I was reffing I'd call that a travel...but who knows? I think even the fans were a bit stunned bc they had no clue what to think and were expecting a whistle...lol
