great points.

Did anyone notice how Rondo basically quit after that collision with Shaq? Little bastard was running free down the baselines until someone finally got in his way, I must say, I was a bit amused by this.

lol, rondo was straight killin' it, then shaq smacked him down. i love how fragile the celtics are. and i'll say it again - any team (detroit being the fluke) relying on sheed in the clutch will fail. it's a known fact of life. guaransheed fail!!!

i'm not on the laker bandwagon. i'm a portland fan through and through (except when sheed and randolph wore the blazer uniform...*shudder*), but i can't stand how lebron cultivates this humble personality when in reality (i.e. when he forgets to keep his image together) he's a total douchebag. every sports writer and analyst builds a shrine to him, it's ridiculous.

i can at least agree that the dude will be one of the most dominant players of all time, if not THE dominant force of all time. but i will NEVER appreciate him the same way i respect someone like kevin durant.

who saw the game anyway? mo williams got hot in g1, but that's the most ridiculous i've EVER seen him play. some of those fades were straight up ridiculous, you'd NEVER shoot that in a proper offense. looks like d-wade forgot his hand somewhere and mo picked it up :rofl2:

anyhow, against the fakers..er, flakers - dammit, LAKERS - their bench will eat the purple and gold's ALIVE. i mean, everybody does these days, right? lol

oh btw bynum's playing hurt. in other news, the sky is blue.

Yeah I think that was the whole point of the hard foul....to scare the little smurf from coming in again. He would've been the reason they won that game. Shaq has a knack for scaring the little ones that enjoy penetration like that...as weird as that sounds

:icon17::icon17::icon17:

Little shyt was tearing us up with his little floaters and baseline drives, twas starting to piss me off a bit how easy it was for him to sneak through, I called that foul.. In fact I was telling my brother how someone needed to get in front when he comes in and toss him to the deck, which strangely happened about 30 seconds later. Honestly I'm suprised he shrugged it off without injury, he hit the deck pretty hard. But its so amazing to me how the whole team just shut down after that, once your supply man loses confidence and fears driving to the lane, the nights over.

BTW, PP is just a shadow of his former self, what was his FG % for that game? 18%?

Red370 05-03-2010 03:54 PM

oh and I must admit, I was a bit worried when Ray started to heat up behind the arc, usually once he hits 2 in a row, 3 or 4 follow, thank god for that nasty nasty home crowd.

It's just a matter of time for KD's ego to kick in. Lebron was sincerely humble at one point also. Now he just throw's that term around like it's nothing. In fact there is nothing humble about the way he uses the word.

Relatively speaking though I would say he's one of the more mature superstar ego's in the league given his age. I grew up watching Magic, Bird and than Jordan. They were all cocky and don't even mention Kobe during his championship run. Kobe is a lot more mature now....so it's easier to like him.

As for Mo Williams...I have a theory on that. If you watched the 08-09 reg season..Mo was absolutely on fire. You felt like whatever shot he threw up was going in. And so everyone expected him to kill the playoffs alongside Lebron. But then he choked the entire postseason....and I think any Cavs fan will tell you that he didn't resemble what he was in the reg season. I personally think the Cavs made it a huge point to not rely on Mo in the reg season this year. If you watch the games closely the only games Mo showed up to were the big name games. ORL, Celts, and Lakers. I found that very interesting. It was almost as if they were preserving him throughout the entire reg. season

Ray Allen is old but he is the scariest person on that team IMO....you really can't guard him bc once the screen is set he gets his shot off so fast. You kinda just hope he's off that day. When I see him wide open I just assume it's automatic....Coming off the screen and shooting is one thing but that is just one guy you cannot afford to leave wide open.

Red370 05-03-2010 04:03 PM

As much as I love Mo, Delante West has been lights out from beyond the arc this season.. the guy hits clutch shots, never really been a fan of his before this season, I think hes a good replacement for Mo off the bench, or when Mo isnt having a good game, I think hes going to have a good one tonight.

zman1910 05-03-2010 04:05 PM

D West is a mini Lebron IMO. He can shoot, defend, pass and throw down some thunderous dunks. He will show up big throughout the rest of the playoffs for the Cavs bench....

Red370 05-03-2010 10:33 PM

what a fukn laughable display tonight, lebron was garbage, I wonder how many points were scored off his turnovers, not to mention how the game would have turned out if we could make free throws, probably would have won by 30 (facetious), what a goddamn joke man. I hope we actually show up to the game in Boston.

Yeah pretty bad showing specially on the day he received his MVP. He will bounce back next game.

frost 05-03-2010 10:59 PM

Phoenix sure could use it since everyone is boycotting us. We need the revenue :roflpuke2:

Hahaha....what a ridiculous game. It's funny really.

This is what I hate about the Cavs. They suffer the same problem as the Lakers. They feel as if they can simply turn on the switch whenever they want. The Lakers are an arrogant bunch but truthfully they are allowed to be...I mean they are the champs after all. They've got nothing to prove to anyone....but the Cavs are like this for what reason?? They have everything to prove.

It's really annoying. Isn't it obvious to everyone that the Cavs don't try and they have this cocky attitude? We all know the elbow injury is fake....I don't buy that one bit. Hell if Mike Brown doesn't know about it and says his elbow is fine than I don't believe it. Even Doc Rivers said that it was a bunch of BS.

Either way..the Cavs will be victorious but I wonder if teams get paid to keep the series interesting....bc the real Cavs don't show up in certain games much like Game 3 in Chicago. They got screwed with their cocky attitude again at the end of that game...even though they could have pulled it off.

ct63084 05-04-2010 12:30 AM

I think them knowing that they can win the series even if they lose one is what's killing them, they are getting complacent.

wishihadnav 05-04-2010 01:38 AM

Hmmm..will my prediction come true??..haha

I'm gonna be honest, the display shown last night was so laughable, it almost looked staged. Hell, the nets would have put up a better showing than that crap. I wouldnt doubt that the games are intentionally set up to allow the series to play out entirely just for ticket sales and to keep audiences watching. And you're right, my brother made a comment about how terrible the Cavs have been in the first half all season long and can go into the 3rd down 25 points and still come back and win comfortably, I think now cockiness and complacency is starting to rear its ugly head.

ct63084 05-04-2010 10:31 AM

Lol lebron is a ******* he proved that to me last year and the year before that when he didn't even shake or congratulate when the celtics and magic when they lost to them. Then he makes an argument that it doesn't make sense to shake their hand because they have been fighting each other and they shouldn't shake their hands or something like that. Lol mma fighters and boxers always shakes and congratulate the other side win or loss because of respect for each other.

By the end of the regular season, and as the Crabs were knocking a surprisingly fiesty Bulls team out of the playoffs, everybody was rushing to compare LeBron James to Michael Jordan. Guys like John Hollinger had the advanced stats to back up these claims, and one Chicago-based writer's 'Bron-gasm was so uncontrollable that he boldy proclaimed King Crab was going to be better than MJ. Forget the fact that James has yet to sniff an NBA championship...unless you count that four-game sweep in the 2007 Finals as getting a sniff.

I don't. I mean, did you see the Eastern Conference in 2007? That was some weak sauce.

I'll be honest: I hate forecasts. I hate predictions. And I hate comparisons. I get that people don't know whether they're buying a gallon of milk unless the words "One Gallon" actually appear on the jug. Measuring sticks are important when buying dairy products or bulk candy. But honestly, comparing players always seems to minimize and diminish both parties.

Think about it. Based on the numbers, LeBron is right there with Jordan, right? And yet he is not Jordan. I mean, can you imagine MJ's Bulls taking a huge dump at home in the playoffs right after Mike accepted an MVP trophy? Would that have ever happened? No. They would have had to carry away what was left of Jordan's teammates in a bucket. A small one. So that's what I'm talking about. When you use the numbers to say James is as good as MJ, it denigrates MJ's accomplishments, and when you hold Mike's end results up to LeBron's achievements to date, it seems like James can't DO IT when it really matters, crushing anyone and everyone in his path...which more than anything else was Jordan's hallmark.

mj is definately more accomplished but he took tooo many damn shots and had a TERRIBLE shooting percentage..worse than kobe or lebron.

zman1910 05-04-2010 07:48 PM

All you Lebron haters are gonna love this...lol. Even I can't believe it wasn't called.

YouTube - LeBron James' jump stop/"travel" against the Boston Celtics in Game 2, 2010 Playoffs

ct63084 05-04-2010 08:40 PM

Damn lebron needed to get a travel agent for that one.

wishihadnav 05-04-2010 09:45 PM

Time for Utah to lose again..haha.

Red370 05-04-2010 10:38 PM

now hold on one minute, i know the "jump stop" is completely legal in NCAA/HS rules, is there an NBA rule that classifies that as travelling? I do it all the time in the city league and it doesnt get called, think about it, you get 3 steps per dribble right? wouldnt jump stopping consist of 1?

ct63084 05-04-2010 10:50 PM

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think it all depends on where you pick up your dribble. But i don't know NBA always changes it's rules to cater to their superstars.

To me it's simple....the magnitude of the initial jump was ridiculous. It seemed as if he was in full flight and that to come back down made no sense. I've done/seen hopsteps a gazillion times and they never look like that...but at the same time I've never seen an athlete like Lebron either.

If I was reffing I'd call that a travel...but who knows? I think even the fans were a bit stunned bc they had no clue what to think and were expecting a whistle...lol

ct63084 05-05-2010 12:28 AM

Is it me or does kobe looks like he's getting healthier every game, he was all over the jazz on game 2, blocking shots 8 assist and 30 points.

phelan 05-05-2010 12:30 AM

he looks healthier because it's the fking jazz. they have to send help everytime gasol/bynum/odom gets the ball in the post, and other than AK-47 they have no defensive presence to put on kobe at all. so lots of help defense + cj miles / wes matthews playing d straight up on kobe?

kobe will slaughter the jazz all by himself.

wishihadnav 05-05-2010 11:51 AM

utah..haha!

zman1910 05-05-2010 08:11 PM

LA shouldn't have any problems making it to the finals this year.....unless Phoenix can somehow manage to play defense all the while maintaining their offense.....but I highly doubt it

tc20 05-06-2010 02:31 PM

hmmmmm spurs will take it!
