Oregon has officially scored more than a point a minute. 180 minutes played, 189 points scored. Crazy stat.

If that were the case, people would flock to rugby.

Uh, hockey hasn't even started yet. But I am a St. Louis Blues fan.

Yeah, aside from Tennessee we really haven't played anybody that's good. Next week we start Pac-10 play and things may be different.

ClemsonWill 09-20-2010 12:36 PM

I had an out of town wedding to attend and I forgot my phone at work. Not being able to check scores was really traumatic for me. Then topping it off, Auburn gets a very lucky break to get the win over Clemson. Even thought we outplayed them most of the game. I'm very disappointed.

ClemsonWill 09-24-2010 01:58 PM

They move the thread and no activity. WTF

Pushing Tin..... What do you think about Orgeon's chances tomorrow?

cow 09-24-2010 03:16 PM

Move the thread? I stickied it because I thought it was important.

Chriz 09-25-2010 06:06 PM

Wow we suck. Must fire Greg Davis (OC)
Shameful loss for Texas

Red370 09-25-2010 06:15 PM

lmao Texas, boooooooo :owned:

go Bucks.

Pushing_Tin 09-25-2010 10:26 PM

Damn I can't believe bama pulled it out at the end. UCLA kicked Texas' azz! I think the Ducks will win, but it will be a lot closer than their past 3 games.

Chriz 09-25-2010 10:42 PM

I was at the game, such a terrible game to watch. Never threw a ball for more than 10 yards, always used stupid draw plays, and always up the middle. Absolutely no variety. Ive been saying this for three years, the offensive coordinator needs to leave.

Well maybe losing to a sucky team like UCLA will make that happen!

Ducks won, but it wasn't all that pretty. Stanford next week here at home should be a good one! I wonder if College Game Day will show up.

So I'm going to my first home LSU game of the year & it's at 2:30. What the hell, man.

Thats to bad. Nothing else like a night in death valley!

cow 09-26-2010 09:30 PM

Yeah. It's even more annoying as the three people with me (girlfriend & two buddies from Tennessee) haven't gone to a game in Tiger Stadium.

Oh well.

Playing in tiger stadium at night is an whole different experience than day. There is a reason why its the number 1 hardest stadium to play at for oposing teams.

cow 09-27-2010 08:04 AM

Yeah, that. The atmosphere for a night game is absolutely unreal.

So who or how was it decided that it is the hardest stadium to play at in all of college football?? It has been my observation that everybody thinks their local stadium is that hardest to play at. Heat, noise etc.

cow 09-27-2010 11:50 AM

Notice that he isn't an LSU fan.

I'll sum it up like this. After a last second touchdown win against Auburn, the crowd eruption was so loud, it registered as a 6 on the Richter scale in the seismology department across campus (over a quarter mile away). Since then (1988), LSU has added almost 20,000 seats.

:::edit:::
I can't find any number saying "6 on Richter scale." I may have made that up as a kid or something. I'll confirm if I find any differently.

Either way, you get the idea.

cow 09-27-2010 11:56 AM

Plus, Louisianians drink a lot. Playing at night gives us a long time to get lubricated.

Lemers 09-27-2010 01:46 PM

I still haven't recovered from Texas getting upset. Looks like my college football season is as over as my MLB teams season

Oh it's cool man, there are a dozen different ways you could determine that fact. Here's what I took from wiki answers. BTW Autzen stadium is right here in Eugene. :tiphat:

Quote:

Autzen's 59,000 strong make the Big House collectively sound like a pathetic whimper. It's louder than any place I've ever been, and that includes "The Swamp" at Florida, "The Shoe" in Columbus and "Death Valley" at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die.
J. Brady McCollough -The Michigan Daily-

first of all the question is "what is the loudest stadium" not "which stadium had the loudest game" and the answer to that is LSU's Tiger Stadium. ask any college coach or player and they will tell you LSU is absolutely the loudest stadium. this is the only place every other school is scared to go to! so why everyone talks about that one game there stadium had LSU is like that EVERY week. and if you want to talk about a single game you need to talk about Oct. 8, 1988 at LSU when Tommy Hodson threw a game winning pass to Edddie Fuller, and the crowd was so loud and football drunk it registered on the richter scale! thats right football nation LSU fans created a earthquake!

Actually on the contrary, Husky Stadium in Seattle recorded the loudest db level in College football history in a game against Nebraska in 1991, the year the University of Washington won the National Championship.....

"During televised games, it has become so loud that the cameras shake.[7] During the 1992 night game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, ESPN measured the noise level at 135 decibels, well above the threshold of pain). This was the highest decibel level ever recorded for a college football stadium."

Autzen Stadium in Eugene is the second highest ever recorded at a Ducks game at 127 db.... Note: There are comments associated with this question. See the discussion page to add to the conversation

cow 09-27-2010 03:49 PM

I really want to go to a game at Autzen. A friend of mine is an UO grad & has season tickets-- I need to get there stat.

Speaking of Washington, I was surprised at the noise level of the stadium (went to the LSU opener there last season) considering how poor the team was in 2008 & that one side is open.

theDreamer 09-27-2010 03:53 PM

An article from earlier this year, but very interesting read: Penn State's New Twelfth Man Is Science
I like how they can determine the distant the voice will travel because of the noise level and how with slight changes they can make a QBs voice travel even less, basically destroying any audibles.

I've never been, I always work. I need to go to one game at least! I work Phil Knight's G5 every week though!

The LSU Ducks game is going to be great!!

ClemsonWill 09-29-2010 03:03 PM

Miami coming to town this week. I hope it ends like last year!

Pushing_Tin 10-01-2010 07:50 PM

Okay my prediction for the Ducks Stanford game tomorrow. I'm calling for an upset.

Stanford 31 Ducks 28.

cow 10-01-2010 09:37 PM

Boo. Go Ducks.

Of course I want the Ducks to win, but I think they are going to be unprepared for Stanford.

Pushing_Tin 10-02-2010 11:50 PM

LSU barely escapes, OSU struggles with Illinois? WTF? Oregon started off slow but kicked the crap out of Stanford by the end.

My top 5.

1. Alabama
2. Boise
3. Oregon
4. OSU
5. Oklahoma

blue660r01 10-03-2010 12:01 AM

I can agree with that

cow 10-03-2010 08:17 AM

I'd put Oregon above Stanford by virtue of quality wins. BSU's big victory came against what has proven to be a crap VT team.

On the subject of LSU, I've never been so pissed after a win. That game was an absolute joke-- execution, playcalling, & time management were awful. I think I'm jumping aboard the fire Les Miles bandwagon. I can't make excuses for him anymore.

Pushing_Tin 10-03-2010 12:08 PM

Oregon has jumped over Boise State and Texas, Penn State and Southern California have fallen out of The Associated Press college football poll.

After beating Stanford 52-31 on Saturday night, the Ducks moved up a spot to No. 3 behind top-ranked Alabama and No. 2 Ohio State in the latest Top 25.

Boise State, which had been No. 3 since the preseason, slipped a spot to No. 4. TCU was No. 5.

Texas dropped out of the ranking after losing a second straight game, leaving the Longhorns unranked for the first time since Oct. 15, 2000. Their streak of 162 consecutive weeks in the rankings was the longest active streak in the country.

Ohio State now has the longest streak at 90 straight poll appearances.

The end of that game was epic/comical. Sorry but there's now way they deserve a #12 ranking after that debacle. Les Miles is hilarious to listen to though!

I think we can help you when you guys travel to Little Rock and our Hogs beat you guys! :rofl2:

As for my top 5:

1. Bama - rightfully so and deserving.
2. Oregon - Definitely deserve to jump BSU.
3. Boise St. - will continue to lose out to other ranked teams due to their schedule and opponents, and RPI.
4. Ohio St. - I hate OSU and the Big Eleven or whatever they call themselves. They have proven in past years they don't deserve to play in the BCS Championship game.
5. TCU - Have slightly less BSU syndrome than BSU actually has.

Did you watch that game? OSU didnt struggle and in fact, won the game comfortably, I watched the game and read the lineups, they started ALOT of 2nd team players, in particular the offensive/defensive line and secondary, they're giving their starters rest for the ranked teams we have coming up on the schedule. Add to the fact that the best pound for pound quarterback in the country went down in the 3rd quarter with a minor injury that caused him to miss a good bit of the game.

First of all, your lineup is insane, you'd put Oregon and Boise St. over OSU? are you crazy? Nice of you to take a shot at the Buckeyes after the asswhoopin they laid on the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. The SEC is weak this year, WIZZZZEAK. Alabama is the only team in that conference thats worth a shyt right now. The fact of the matter is this, the championship game will be between OSU and Alabama and it'll be a much better game than any one of you think. I dont know what it is with you SEC nutswingers bashing the Big Ten conference, didnt Penn State lay the smack down on LSU???
