So I am willing to over look and forgive the token and other insensitive remarks. There are other women commentators that report on Sky 1 and so she is not a token. She however, is the only race car driver of the women on Sky 1. I thought her pre race commentary was pretty good for a rookie working with experienced commentators which F1 drivers and champions. I did not get to see the post race interviews. I think her dress was very age appropriate and I bet many young F1 fans saw it as refreshing. If we are going to criticize her interview question and her commentary, I thought Martin Brundel's was horrible when he took over for Will Buxtin. His grid walks were the worst. He has gotten much better over time.

When I am critiquing someone's who is getting an opportunity I recall my own experiences and who well I did or did not do. What they wear, gender or race has no bearing.

Hell, my last experience was taking instruction at a car control class from a professional racecar driver who has been a factory driver for a couple of major manufactures including Ford. He coaches IMSA and other drivers and does racecar setups and data analysis for various professional teams. You talk about intimidating!!!! Yeah, my competence was on display. Humility was overflowing, because I am instructor too, LMAO.

All this to say, getting a break on the big stage with those that do it all the time and you are different, ain't easy. I have lived that for most of my life. All anyone wants is a chance to be a success or not. Let's give her a chance. Rant over!!!
