Nobody said they have to revert to the non-party-mode for the weekend. They will just tune the car for the maximum that they think it will sustain, for Monza. After this, there are different tracks with different demands.
What I haven't heard, is how many engines each car is allotted this year. With the season length still in flux until only last week, and now 17 races on the calendar (instead of what, 22 or 23 originally planned), there should be a pretty clear picture as to how many PU's they can blow up to finish the year. That's two less races per engine if they go with 3 again. I don't think it would be reasonable to permit only two. So it would seem they can push the engines harder than ever. |
