I've always believed in you have to pay to play and that is what makes Formula 1 great. They come up with the most insane technology. If you have an issue with who's spending the most, its Red Bull. They have two teams in F1.

Completely agree!! Here we go again. It’s looking like another boring season with Mercedes basically parading in the front. I don’t know what it will take for F1 to put a spending restriction in place. How hard can it be! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
As much as I agree with the "I'm sick of Mercedes spending more money and winning all the time" sentiment, the last thing I want to see in F1 is spending restrictions. Stifling innovation and R&D to make the cars more bunched up on race day is absolutely not what I want from F1. The competition needs to be there, of course, but I don't want to see the best team/car on the track having to restrict or de-tune so that other teams can keep up :shakes head:

GO Bottas!
Valtteri Bottas V3.0 Fear the beard ✅ Porridge for breakfast ✅ Drop F bombs ✅ |
Still have to give driver a lot of credit , if you put vettle in Hamilton’s car I’m sure he won’t go as fast just saying, a fast car is fast because of fast driver. Look at autocross people show up with 100 k car and cones in close to last jv

It's not Mercedes fault they are winning. It's the other teams fault they are losing. Ferrari get all the breaks in F1 and they still are losing. Racing is always about money....hell all sports are about money. I raced karts when I was young and that was all about money.
|
Let’s look at the first and last place teams. How is it normal that Mercedes has a budget of approx. $400 million and Williams has $135 million?
Would capping spending at $200 million for example, really kill innovation in F1? I seriously doubt it. I know that it would make for a more interesting racing series for everyone. Actually I think that teams would be forced to innovate even more by striving to find ways to make a better car within a certain budget. |
There is enough spec racing out there and F1 is the closet to run what you brung!!! Racing has always been about the rich from the beginning and it was just that...if you want to beat me spend more and do more.

Not trying to argue; you're probably right on several points. I'm just one opinion that feels it's not worth the risk :twocents: |

I see that Verstappen and a couple other drivers say that overtaking is just as hard as ever. The new wings, etc. which were supposed to help so far have not. Maybe that was his excuse for not getting by Lewis.

The dark side of F1. Unfortunately the repression in many host countries will continue. Is it an F1 issue or not?
