So much whining from the losers of this boring race. LOL
"Extremely boring. Without a safety car, without yellow flags, the sport needs to think a little bit about the show because this is very disappointing. Probably the most boring race ever in Formula One. We probably need to give something to the fans at the end of the race just to pay the ticket back a little." 'Lonso. "It wasn't really racing. We were just cruising around from lap six, literally cruising. If that was exciting for you to watch, no problem." Lewis. |
pretty sure Ricciardo will stay at RB next season...
only at Red Bull he can be the 1st driver or at least equal treatment. |
Well everyone knows that the race in Monaco is usually won at qualifying and not on race day.
That is why Kimi was so upset last year as the Ferrari principals gave the win to Vettel messing up his pit strategy to put Vettel in front of him at the last few laps of the race. |
I admit I love watching the car so close to the barriers, but usually the race is awful processional which gets boring. Make it about an hour long and that would be better. Bring back the BMW M1 race with some F1 drivers in the morning.

Monaco is a charity event waiting to happen. Its not a race so lets not call it one. Either upgrade and change enough to allow passing outside the tunnel or re-work the event. It is utterly boring as a race. its only exciting during qualy / the start or during a crash.
|
Monaco is a spectacle, glitz and glamour. The race is nothing more than an exhibition. It still considered a bucket list race to when because of its history and prestige. The big three spectacles are; the Indy 500, Lemans and Monaco.

:iagree: I definitely agree its the place for the taste of luxury, fine wine, nice cars, fancy hotels, millionaires boat club in the marina!
Best of all the women on bikinis sun bathing on expensive boats what a spectacle! Did you say there was a race? I was busy watching something else.lol |
anyway.... "passing" has been absent from F1 for at lesst 5-6 seasons now....
I am surprised people bring it up particularly at Monaco.... :icon18: |

I went every year from the late '80s until 2013 or whatever year the new hybrid era started. They sound like crap and really took away much of the excitement. My analogy is like hearing Jimi Hendrix play an acoustic guitar. He's still good but much of the fire is gone. After hearing those screaming Ferrari V-12s and later V-10s revving to 19K these new cars just don't have that visceral punch. You could actually feel each gearshift in your gut. Our seats were at the hairpin and the backfires on the downshifts sounded like cannons. I really miss that.

Meant to post this earlier. So who will be the First one this year to sign the "Wall of Fame??" :ugh2:

When will Grosjean go back to baking baguette instead of Racing f1? O.o
|
Even adding a third DRS zone couldn't help that crashing bore of a race. F1 needs to go back to ground effects and screw all the wings that do nothing but add to cost and destroy racing.
|
Best move in Canada was a team effort. Ricciardo's flying in lap and the Red Bull over cut by Ricciardo and his crew at the pits on Hamilton. Fantastic team output.

Well I think they are doing good, the Bernie-age is over now and the new owner seems to have a lot of plans. Like he said in an interview before the race: "F1 needs to become cheaper, louder and faster - thats what the fans want. We have already pushed through some changes in the last 12 months and that's just a very early start on everything we have planned"

Thoughts on Ricciardo's exit from Red Bull for Renault's works team? If both Renault and Honda can deliver competitive engines for their drivers then '19 would be interesting.
