I agree. It is annoying. And I can tell he’s annoying the drivers too. It adds absolutely nothing to the race coverage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
A preview of this weekend's Chinese GP - Chinese Grand Prix preview - Formula One - Can Red Bull get its act together?

Great racing so far. Lots of overtaking from Red Bull. Smart move with the tire changes. Lots of aggressive racing. Now why did VER do his crazy thing again. Too impatient. RIC made a heroic move to take the lead in 45.
|
the winner shows why he is the winner - ricciardo
the idiot shows why he is an idiot - verstappen the karma shows what comes around turns around - vettel, when he squeeze his team mate such badly on the start... similar thing happened back to him and cost him the podium. |
I wouldn't say Verstappen is an idiot. A little over exuberant maybe, but so was Senna. I think he is the most exciting driver in a long time. F1 needs more drivers who push the envelope. What started out totally boring, turned into a fantastic race. Ricciardo was unbelievable. Shocked by Lewis' performance.
|
I have to give MAJOR kudos to the Red Bull team.
To barely get the car into qualifying, then to win the race. Phenomenal example of teamwork. I think Ricciardo was as shocked as he was at the Azerbaijan race last year. |
Good race overall. No complaining for me. Nice review here from SKY F1 - Martin Brundle: Daniel Ricciardo becomes a contender for the 2018 title - and a Mercedes seat in 2019 | F1 News

I have to say that was one exciting race. But I still hate those new protective halos.

Via SKY F1 Gossip -
Vettel and Ricciardo reunited in 2019? Even before his stunning Chinese GP win made him arguably the hottest property in the 2019 driver market, speculation in the Shanghai paddock had already suggested Daniel Ricciardo had signed some form of option with Ferrari. Sky F1 analyst Mark Hughes, writing in Motor Sport magazine, believes the reports are correct and has locked both Ricciardo and Ferrari into an exclusive negotiating period until the end of June. 'There are many different types of contractual options, but this one is said to be on both sides up to a defined date (believed to be June 30). Up until that time, neither party can officially negotiate with another,' reports Hughes. 'Because the driver is effectively locking himself out of the market for that time, discussions for his post-2018 services are contractually ‘owned’ by the team (in this case Ferrari). 'As such, he will be paid a fee. Between now and then he and Ferrari can negotiate about a future contract. This is all conventional F1 practice.' (Full story - external site) |
Will be interesting this weekend in Baku to see how Mercedes respond. They have had 2 weeks now to assess their performance. Again the tires are their issue like last year at times. The car is most definitely a 'Diva' again lol

That would exciting... why not in Daytona? Largest race track in terms of capacity of spectators in the US. |

Very interesting to see the dynamic in Red Bull this weekend in Spain - Red Bull's driver problem unlikely to go away any time soon

I just enjoy the creativity and technical approach these teams take. Ferrari is definitely taking the lead.

I have only had the pre-race of the Grand Prix of Spain on for 5 min. These announcers for Sky are simply the worst. I will turn it back when the race starts.

The Silver artows looks very impressive at qualifying sand bagging on Q1 and Q2
To let the tifosis get completely complacent at Q3 |

Interesting race 3 constuctors on the 1st to 3rd position.
Redbull Ferrari Mercedes Now we have a good race ahead!!! |
Happy for Ricciardo. Great venue to look at, but so hard to overtake that it is almost always a boring race. Still, it is on my bucket list.
|
Fantastic drive by DR even with the engine and gearbox issue. And what an effort by Max VerSmashen from last to 9th.
|
It was a nice race indeed, 3 different teams took the top 3.

Lewis saying the same. Monaco is not a good race just a good event before the race. http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/125...-carlo-circuit |
Cool place, but maybe should be run like a rally. Race against the clock, because there really isn't any way to race against one another.
|
but that's Monaco, there's no passing can be done unless you are driving the mercedes lapping an under-power sauber or marussia like couple seasons ago.
hamilton complains the race is boring because he's not winning... not the first time he's being a whining kid... do you see him complaining when he was winning...? no Alonso.... basically he's been having boring race for the last couple seasons.... with that under-power honda powered last 3 seasons, and the non-competitive mclaren chassis this year... |
on top of that... do you think Ricciardo had a boring race?
even he led from start to the flag... his race is the most complicated with his engine problem, once he's more than couple secs ahead and couple laps later it's only couple of tenth.... and look at verstappen, start from dead last and climb all the way to 9th... a gain of 11 places in the "no-way-to-pass circuit"... at one point, I am amazed by how sainz gives space to hulkenberg to pass him then shut the door on verstappen right after... amazing team work and skills.. do i find monaco boring...? prolly not... :rofl2: |
