Can't believe no one hit the walls. I'm getting tired of the Mercedes dominance. Not their fault for sure, but it's getting to be like when Michael dominated with Ferrari. I thought this circuit might through some surprises but it didn't.

Good qualifying, the rain made it exciting. They need to do something about those yellow curbs

:iagree: 50mm (about 2in) is way too high

Maybe the super-awesome F1 drivers can dig deep into their skill bag and figure out a way not to run on the curbs.
|
I agree the drivers should do their part not to hit them. And if the team can reinforce the suspension sufficiently so that it does not break when the curbs are hit a couple times through a race, then that's their responsibility to do so. FIA certainly didn't have any sympathy for the drivers/teams.
My thinking is $hit happens, and those curbs shouldn't break the damn car if it goes over them. Might as well put a wall there and forego any runoff area - I think it was Guiterrez who said something to the effect of 'at least a wall is easier to see'. But that's how it is, so that's what they have to deal with. |
Curbs were a non issue today, lots of interesting twists, I only feel bad for Vettel though.

Instead of increasingly aggressive curbs, why don't they start the gravel trap at the edge of the first level of curbing? I am sure if they started losing the car into the traps they would respect the track limits. That's the way all the tracks used to be.

Brit GP this weekend!!

Mercedes will issue a final warning to Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg ahead of the British Grand Prix, but not impose any team orders for now, according to a report in Germany.
Auto Motor und Sport says Toto Wolff will meet with his two drivers at the team's Brackley base on Thursday ahead of their arrival at nearby Silverstone for media day to discuss their collision in Austria and where the team go from here. And although Wolff has raised the spectre of team orders at certain stages of races, the report claims he will instead issue the drivers with a final warning with the threat of "serious consequences" if they crash again. Well that was a snoozer even by F1 standards. To bad, last year was such a good race.

Yes, I fear the rest of the year will be the Lewis Hamilton show. The Kimi/Max battle was entertaining for awhile, but with this generation car's aero, you knew he would never get by. They have to do something to reduce downforce on these cars.
