Absolutely... it's like 11lbs lighter I think? I'm kinda want to get it tuned now but I should wait until I get an intake.

I had the gen III's, i don't think i'll get them again unless i can find them for 150 like i sold mine for. I have the drop in's now and i'm good with that, a tune i'd be interested in though.

I'm starting to lean towards the K&N Typhoons for an intake. The Stillen G3 just seems like more hassle than it's worth.

For the tune, I'm thinking about spending a weekend in Houston so I can get an UpRev dyno tune done.

Ive yet to actually hear a FI exhaust in person but am quite anxious to. I used to run straight pipe from the headers back on my old car and that was crazy loud lol. So with the Z I wanted a nice sounding setup, something clean and to overpowering in sound. After reading much about the FI exhaust I was still torn between the non res and the 12" res. Many people say the non res are perfect and have little drone; then there are ones that say it to loud. I feel like I made a right decision with ordering the 12" res but only time will tell, come on November lol.

Making the holes is no big deal, i just don't want to pay for them again.

I've got the non and worm has the 12 and paul has the 18, so you have a good shot at hearing them all before yours is ready. Me and worm have stock cats and paul has the FI resonated HFC's.

haha... I'm not as worried about the hole as I am about ******* with taking my bumper off every time I need to clean the filters.

From what I read, if you're running an exhaust and a tune, the difference between a CAI and something like the Typhoon is pretty minimal.

Actually, there is one more option - Mike C (ZYCOPTH) has the FI 18" Res CBE + Berk HFC's (non-res of course). His sounds way louder than mine.

Mine is great sounding inside the cabin at highway speeds. No Drone, but sounds like a big cat purring nice and deep. Cold Starts, I rumble the house and wake my GF at the back of the house even with the Resonators on both HFC's and CBE (18" Res no less!). When warm, downshifting and punching the accelerator produces a low rumbly growl that sounds like a Ferrarri, especially when I hit 5K RPM's. I've had cars roll the window down to listen as they drive alongside, plus lots of compliments on the sound from guys following me on cruises and stuff. I cannot be happier with the system. No tune though, don't want to mess with my warranty, but I have not felt that I needed one. The car is extremely quick with immediate throttle response. One more thing, I am running the K&N Typhoon CAI's, which adds to the sounds and the performance. I think my setup is "PURR"fect for me...

ps: with all that said, if I am in 6th gear and start an uphill climb, then as the engine becomes loaded, I start noticing droning. Once the drone becomes too much, I downshift, easing the load on the engine, and the drone goes away...

Too bad you can't come to Cars and Coffee, you could check out mine. Yours should sound exactly the same. In fact, if you want to hookup one day to check it out, just let me know.

Sweet... maybe we can hookup on Saturday. My GF is going to be out of town and I don't really have anything going on.
