First Annual Spring Cruise And Clay Pigeon Shoot
 

CARS, FOOD, FRIENDS & SHOTGUNS; Enough Said?
If you are “car nut” like I am I suspect you are more than ready for spring and getting your baby out of the garage and/or cleaned up after some winter driving…and…if you love trying to hit clay pigeons (or have an interest/want to get started in the sport) then this is a perfect event to combine two interests together!

Guy or gal, expert clay target shooter or complete novice, you’ll have a lot of fun at this event – no one needs to feel “left out” (there will be some basic instruction for those who are totally new to the world of clay pigeon shooting).

Of course, you can bring your own shotgun but for those who need it, appropriate shotguns can be rented on site and ammunition and other items are available for sale.

So, for any of you in the Middle Tennessee area or a reasonable drive of same, please feel welcome to join us! Some of the more pertinent data is below...if you are interested, drop me a PM and let me know.

WHEN: Saturday, April 10, 2010

WHERE: Montgomery County Shooting Complex (Montgomery County Shooting Complex )

PLEASE RSVP: We must have a headcount so the complex can properly prepare for us (and because there is a maximum number of shooters the complex can handle) so please RSVP with your name and telephone number to me by PM; I’ll confirm by both PM and email.

SCHEDULE:

• Meet at Bob Evan’s Restaurant at Opryland/Music City Drive (200 Rudy Circle). If you want to have breakfast I’d plan to arrive no later than 9AM. Otherwise, plan to get there about 9:50AM as we’ll leave Bob Evan’s at 10AM sharp.

• Cruising for about an hour and a half on back roads to arrive in the Clarksville area at about 11:30.

• We’ll be at the Clarksville stop (specific spot TBD) from about 11:30 until about 12:15 – this will give you a chance to grab something to eat and/or some gasoline for those who need it as well as a chance for folks to join up with us there.

• We’ll leave Clarksville about 12:15 and spend about another half-hour traveling to the Montgomery County Shooting Complex )4201 Southside Road; Southside, TN 37171).

• Our afternoon of shooting will be from about 1PM until about 4PM

• Trophies will be awarded for “Best Shooter” of the day and for “Least Threatening to Clay Pigeons” (both based on hit/miss count).

• After our shoot; we’ll head back to Nashville and we’ll stop at a watering hole somewhere along the way for food, beverages and likely a few tall stories about how the wind shifted their pigeon and made them miss!).

COSTS:

• Range fee: $5.50

• Fee per Round of American Skeet: $5.00 (we’ll do two rounds for sure with an option for a third)

• Ammunition: You’ll need one box of 25 rounds per round of skeet; they sell on site for $7.00/box or, of course, you can bring your own.

• Gun Rental: NO CHARGE! The complex is COMPING our gun rental (usually $20/gun) for those who need one.

Assuming three rounds of skeet total cost will be approximately $42.00

Figures. I've got a fundraiser dinner I'm attending set for the 10th of April, or I wouldn't mind the drive from Memphis to attend. Shooting? Driving? Two of my favorite past times! Maybe next time, but good luck!

hmm might show up... never shot a gun before tho,.. should i get the least threating award now?

I suspect that there will be several people vying for that particular trophy. :)

The details are above (in the original post) - we'll be meeting up on the NE side of town (near the Opryland area) then cruising over to Southside, TN by way of Clarksville after which we'll cruise back to the Franklin, TN area for those who want to hang around or they can take off for home whenever it's convenient for them.

Just giving this a little "bump" as the date is drawing closer!
