Has anyone gotten a tune. If so where did you go and how was the service?

I've asked around and was told to go to Dallas and don't waste time trying Memphis. I got my tuner cable from seymore here on the forum and he gave me a tune from a Z with similar mods. I definitely noticed a improved power, response, and mpg but haven't been on a dyno to check numbers. It was well worth the $550 and highly recommend it.
On a side note my favorite mod hands down has been the 25 row oil cooler. Easy install and I can push my car as hard as I want and never go above 200*. FBNISSAN has the best price on every purchase I've looked into(except uprev).

Thanks for the comment. Is the only benefit of getting a tune done at a shop the dyno? If the cable and tune uprev sells for 500 will give me the same benefits as a tune done in shop in Dallas, then i would much rather save the trip and just buy the cable.

With a dyno, a good tuner can get u max gains bc every car is a little different. Having a base tune will make it easier for the tuner and should save some time/money spent on the dyno. "seymore4"(joe) will sell u a tuner version with cable for $550 shipped instead of $700msrp and give u a base tune like uprev would do. Tuner version can be resold or put on another vehicle whereas the $500msrp version cant. Base tune won't be max performance but will be getting close and it wont hurt your car. There is a possibility that driving too long without a tune, with too many mods, can do some damage. Joe is very knowledgable and is active here and on the g37&Titan forums so there amanse wrap posts where he is explaining how uprev works. His $550 cable is new, legit and very easy to use; he owns a shop and sells them at cost just bc he thinks ecu access shouldn't be such a ripoff. I don't think u actually get a cable with the 500msrp version but I can hook the car up to my laptop and monitor/record/change just about any data, sensors, or settings that u can think. One thing i did recently was tell m car to turn on the radiator fan at lower temps. Installing the tune is as easy as opening a word document

So maybe buy the base tune from seymore4, then later on dyno to get the max hp and tq out of my car?
I am definitely a rookie when it comes to tuning, no experience what so ever. So i doubt i would change anything in the uprev program, that way i dont blow anything up.

Technically, with the tuner version, youre buying an uprev license & the cable that transfers the license to yor car's ECU. Then u can load the 5 tunes from joe or a tuner can start from scratch. He gave me the tunes from a Z with similar mods that had been worked on with the dyno. If u want to sell the cable&license or put it in a different car, u flash the license back to the cable and it is good to go but your first car will every to stock ECU. U can buy additional licenses for use with the same cable for multiple cars.
I plan on getting on a dyno locally to check my output without making any adjustments. Although having my setup from joe may make it easier for a local tuner to make adjustments even thought he isn't familiar with the 370. I really don't want to put the miles/wear on my car driving to Dallas and back unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the information. I just got my test pipes, so once i get those installed and wait a few weeks for a couple more pay checks, i will get the tuner version.
Yeah i am the same way with the drive to dallas, i dont want to make the drive if i dont have too. By the way, where r u at in Arkansas?

That's not far from where I live at when I am home. I am going to school at the University of Arkansas and visit the Maumelle area every now and then. We need to get a group of us and meet up sometime and take a cruise.
