Hit and Run, Nissan GT-R. Suspect still not found. Maybe NAGTROC can help?
90 yrs old man on bike dies from a hit and run - YouTube
On April 27, 2013, about 5:10 a.m., 90-year old Korean male identified as Joo Yoon, a resident of Los Angeles, was crossing in an marked crosswalk on Virgil and 6th Street when he was fatally struck by a newer model Nissan GT-R (Gun Metal or dark grey), with 3" white racing strip from front fender to tail light section, or on both sides. The vehicle will have damage to the front bumper area and hood. A second vehicle of interest is a newer model possibly an Audi (Black or dark in color). Suspect is described as a male Asian, about 25-Years-Old, black hair, brown eyes. His is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180-190 pounds. The driver of the car did not remain at scene to render aid or to identify himself. Yoon was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later. |
It could have been the case of accident. Now he will face felony hit and run, and vehicle manslaughter.

Holy **** man.
He stopped, why not go back and check on the guy and stay there. Clearly would have been an accident (assuming no DUI, which this seems to be a high probability of) since the pedestrian crossed against the sign/light. Hopefully he's found and convicted - probably thinks that since he has an $80-100k car he's untouchable. |
jeez, the guy with the camera got out of his car, but no one even tried to help the dude. people just crawling by him in the middle of the street!
|
it would have definitely been considered an accident since the light had turned green for at least 5 seconds before he struck him. dude prob didnt have a license or insurance which is a misdemeanor if you hit someone. had he stayed and dude still died it would have been vehicular manslaughter due to him not having a license or just a ticket for no insurance.
Whats sad is only 2 people stopped and EVERYONE just stood around looking at the dude not even trying to render some sort of aid. effing humanity now-a-days... |

My biggest issue is that it sounded like he was using launch control. As for the legality and what he will face, honestly, if his lawyer is good enough they'll say he panicked and didn't know what to do and he'll get a slap on the wrist, maybe probation... |

I'm not going to get into the issue of nobody helping, or even putting the damn camera down. That's just disgusting. |

And I THINK the driver of the car with the dash cam called 911 earlier than it seems. Also, this was in Korea Town, some of these people don't even speak English (notice the driver's camera had KPH) so maybe he called someone else to call it in? But yes, I still agree, and if it was me, I'd AT LEAST TRY to help the guy and move him out of the middle of the road at least... I hope the GTR owner comes clean |
