Got in-to an Accident.

Yesterday on my way to work on the 405/101 some ******* *** hole looked away and hit me in stop and go traffic. :shakes head:

Car quarter panel is all ****** up.

My insurance called his insurance and guess what. He doesn't have insurance. He stopped paying for his insurance months ago....

My insurance agreed to cover the damages of $8000. This includes all the after market stuff, and even the carbon fiber diffuser that the body shop is purchasing from a sponsor on here.

The body shop will need to replace the floor in my trunk so they agreed to re-dynomat the entire trunk just like the way I had it.

I have a very good body shop that did work on my other sport cars. Car should be back on the road next Thursday. I'll keep you guys updated.

GaleForce 06-25-2013 05:23 PM

That sucks. Good thing you have a good body shop.

Trips 06-25-2013 05:26 PM

Wow!! Very sorry to hear, But by the angle of the pics? That rear quarter would need to be replaced also :(

Man that just sucks Monkey balls :shakes head:

Hopefully everything goes quick so your back on the road once again.

fzgood 06-25-2013 05:49 PM

Ouch. Hope it comes back like new. Is $8,000 sufficient to cover your losses?

FairladyZ10PG 06-25-2013 07:16 PM

Sorry to hear. I was also involved in an accident by a fellow who stopped paying for insurance. My insurance co. ended up covering all damages to my truck. There seems to be so many bad drivers without insurance on the road I'm afraid to drive my z. Hope everything gets sorted out nicely.

JARblue 06-25-2013 07:40 PM

That sucks man  In Texas it is absolutely critical to have uninsured motorist coverage. I would think the same of any southern border state. I've been hit more than once by someone with no license and no insurance. Good luck with your repairs man - hopefully you're back on the road soon :driving:

DJ-of-E 06-25-2013 07:52 PM

I propose stricter laws about driving without license and/or insurance. For example, immediate jail time.

Some people do not have respect when it comes to property and/or damages. Though, it's funny how people avoids my beat-up looking 240sx compared to when I had the Prius or Z.

Cool avatar Trips. :icon17:

Sorry to hear OP, don't settle for anything less than complete repair.

Wonka2581 06-25-2013 08:56 PM

Pics arent working..... Sorry to hear that.

axmea? 06-25-2013 11:26 PM

Too bad. At least no one got hurt. Most shops don't get the work done 100%. There's always something to find when you get it back so quadruple check their work.

List of everything that will need to be fixed -->

This really grinds my gears! I’m hearing more and more dirt bags driving around without insurance. You must be real worthless to not be able to afford liability only. What kind of car was this that hit you? ( Can’t see the pics from my work computer)

blackcherry20 06-27-2013 10:22 AM

oh my gawd.

that sucks big time....sigh. such a beautiful Z.

crap. :(

nklear 06-27-2013 09:43 PM

Here are the pics guys. My insurance paid top dollar to all the370z.com sponsors for all of my after market parts that got damaged.

Police got his insurance info and let him go but then my insurance ran his insurance it came up that his insurance was cancelled. So now my insurance is going to sue the guy to try and recover all the money that they are spending on me.

Waiz 06-28-2013 12:41 PM

Wow $8k worth of damage?

As long as the frame wasn't bent I would have had the car fixed. It sucks that we have to have uninsured motorist on our policies but at least you don't have to come out of pocket for anymore than your deductible

Exactly.! It's like $5 more a month on the insurance.

JARblue 06-28-2013 01:03 PM

My uninsured motorist coverage means I do not have to pay deductible, I get everything fixed, and it doesn't increase my rates. Without it, if I get hit by uninsured motorist, I would have to pay my $500 deductible, but I still get everything fixed without my rates increasing. It's like $20 every 6 months, so definitely worth it.

Zbrah 06-28-2013 03:06 PM

You should probably look into taking that guy to court for lost of value to your car as well, but probably difficult to collect from him since cant even afford to keep insurance policy.

Ya a tiny dimple of a hit on my rear bumper after a rear end incident over a year ago cost the insurance company $1200 to fix. What sux is it will be on a carfax.

HardTech 06-28-2013 10:14 PM

BS on rate not going up... insurance gets the money one way or another. Been hit 3 times and have had to use the following. uninsured (95 explorer), under-insured(05 330CI ZHP), under-insured (09 G8 GT). Got dinged one way or another after each one.

koufax 06-29-2013 03:26 PM

Ouch man.

nklear 06-29-2013 10:52 PM

Update:

Just got a call from my insurance. They said that some-how they recovered the money for repairs so I don't even have to pay the deductible anymore.

Awesome! did the insurance ask for all the receipts that you put on the vehicle? who is your insurance provider? kudos to them!
