Famous Dave's BBQ is one of my favs |
what kind of food? asking for food recommendations in los angeles is ridiculous without some kind of idea what you're up for.

Get an app called Chefs Feed. It lists down all the restaurants LA chefs would go to eat and their favorite dish. Also includes NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc. I use it all the time. Enjoy your stay. There are so many awesome places to eat here. Be ready to spend $$$$$ and throw out your scale.

If you could narrow down to a specific area in SoCal you are visiting and the type of food you are looking for (american, asian, etc.), we maybe able to tell you some great places to choose

I'm staying at the embassy suites in brea. La county. Idk where that is but I know it's close to Whittier.
For example. I know Santa Monica's fathers office is know for their best burgers from watching tv. I'm a huge food enthusiast so if any of you are too I want to know the best places to get healthier style foods and of course quick bites. I know it's a very general question but I'm just looking for YOUR favorite spot to eat and YOUR Food. Hope his helps :) |
Gen kbbq, sake2me, star BBQ for spicy intestines, slaters 50/50, m&m's blueberry donuts and special croissant, seaside donuts/ ham and cheese croissants for those drunk munchies. 85c bakery

I am a total foodie. So respect my choices... If you are feeling classy, theres a great spot in brea called Taps. Its a fish/steakhouse. Its close to where you'll be staying. Good bar for late night. Its also on a street with Buffalo Wild Wings, BJs Brewery, Brea Improve, (Check For comedians coming to town those weeks). For fast eats in brea, google "The Hat" pastrami sandwhiches and fries. Itll change your life. Also GBurger is pretty good. Near Brea. (La Habra I think..) 5 min away. If you are feeling like driving down to the beach towards Newport- You can hit up my favorite sushi spot in Tustin. Its called Tommy Sushi. Best Galaxy handroll, salmon sushi, poki bowl, baked scallops, etc.. TROYs Breakfast Burritos in Orange CA... Let me know what areas youll be in and I will go in more detail if need be! |

For the first 2 days ill be staying somewhere in San Diego. I'm not sure where but that's the plan. Then I'll be visiting Santa Monica ( yet again I'm not sure where) and for the most part Whittier. And thanks so much, I'm def gonna try to hit these spots! |

Bruxie is owned by my friends family. Love that place! Great food |
Bruxie's is also in downtown Brea, next to Edwards Cinemas. I agree, go to Tap's, that place is amazing. Cha Cha's is also good, while Berkeley Dog is also in that same complex for good hot dogs
Also, there is D'Vine Mediterranean food in the Target shopping center, Olive Pit next to the Wal-Mart on Imperial Highway...there is Flappyjack's on the 55, get off at Tustin Ranch and turn left; that has BOMB breakfast... If you go to the Hat, get the fries with chili cheese...will feed 6! On State College Blvd there's What's Up Men (Ramen joint, not gay bar :roflpuke2: no insult intended), Pielogie, to name a few. You can eat at Tommy Bahama's restaurant in Corona del Mar (I think) if you want to drive. BTW - I dunno if it's still operating, but just avoid the Tut's Bar and Grill in the Embassy Suites. Went to hell years ago. You're also not far from downtown Fullerton, which has a good tapas bar, Heroe's Bar & Grill, Spaghetti Factory (meh), a good steakhouse whose name I forget right now, and lots of bars and lounges to hang out in. |
