Default dealer recommendation for oil cooler install

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and the new owner of a 2010 370Z roadster with 6K miles from the previous owner (barely used). I have to say, this forum really is a gold mine of information for people like me to get ourselves up to speed with the nuances of our vehicles, understand and enjoy them better. I thank all contributors and posters. Here is the reason for my first post: I have been noticing the oil temp running around 220-245F when I drive in stop & go traffic or at normal speeds on canyons, CA-73 or even on Palos Verdes. I have read the thorough discussions in this forum and others about oil cooler addition and I have decided to invest in the nissan motorsport one (21300-SS370) recommended by nissan.
I need recommendations on a good Nissan Dealer who could install the nissan motorsport cooler for me. I want a dealer who has done this installation before and know all the nuances in the installation like proper orientation, seal, securing without vibration, any minor mods required etc. I do not want some dealer who would end up using my ZR baby as a guinea pig and learn his first install. I live in Redondo Beach, anything 50 miles would be convenient because if everything goes well I am planning to use the dealer for servicing and other maintenance too.
I see that the folks at Edmunds had used S. Monica nissan for their 2009 test vehicle to install the oil cooler. It has been quite sometime since then. Based on experiences of other members of this forum, are there any good nissan Dealers who have done this in SoCal area?
Thanks in advance..

I'm not sure if it's within 50 miles but Fontana Nissan is good and I know they have done several oil cooler installs. They are also a sponsor of this forum.

I concur. Fontana or West Covina or Duarte Nissan really are the only ones to use if you want experienced mechanics to install performance parts.

Welcome to the forums.

if u can, u should try to install the oil cooler urself...i consider myself to be no knowledge n not experienced in car guy n i did it wit a help of friend...it is simple...but if u insist on goin to dealers n fork out +400 bucks for installation n labor ...go to fontana or performance nissan in duarte...then again iono how much they charge for installation n labor so i just threw in that 400 bucks ball park figure...

Thank you pedZ and others for the recommendations. I took my Z to Fontana Nissan after contacting Scott via the forum. Overall I am very impressed with the customer service from their staff. Scott, Jerome and Chris were very friendly. When I called Jerome back to report that their technician had forgotten to put a couple of bolts back on the under-engine plastic cover after the install, Jerome wanted to set it right by insisting that he would top off the gas for my second visit and he did. The second visit we also had the stainless steel oil hoses insulated with pipe foam insulation (Home Depot) at the touch-points of the power steering coolant line and the frame-rails so that they don't rub/fail in longterm. The installation looked clean when they showed me before everything was put back. The only thing I had wished I had not done was to have had my black Z washed by them (subcontractor?). It came off with many more swirl marks than it had before and I can see reflections like brushed-metal coming under sunlight. It will probably buff off after waxing but I might have to do this process every time after subsequent washes to hide it, which is the bummer. I have never let anybody else wash it before, I avoided the wash during the first visit, but let them do it during the second time because Jerome offered it politely a couple of times. I know it is not their service office members fault for being very nice to the customer but I will keep this in mind next time I go to any dealership. Jerome was in fact the epitome of customer service, updating me the status of car every half hour. I appreciate the dedication of Scott and Jerome to make this dealership stand out from the rest. I will recommend this place to others in SoCal who want to install an oil-cooler based on my experience. Jerome and Scott are the people to work with if you need good results.
