Anyone know of a reputable medical malpractice attorney?
I need contact info for a medical malpractice attorney.
I had a tonsilectomy about a month ago. The physician that did the surgery chose not to have an in person follow up post surgery because he felt I was young and healthy; therefore, no complications would arise. He also told me that regular exercise was okay as long as "I was feeling up to it." Since my doctor seemed to have so much confidence in the outcome of the procedure, I felt that I was on schedule with recovery. Mind you, I kept all the reccomended precautions post op. Three weeks post op i started bleeding from my throat. I had to be rushed to the ER by a co worker. I ended up losing over 2 liters of blood in the ER and was literally choking on my own blood. Ultimately, they were able to stop the bleeding through an emergency surgery. They also had to pump my stomach as it was filled with blood i swallowed. After all the loss of blood, I could not walk on my own for three days. I had to be assisted by my family every where. It was difficult to even roll over on my bed. Now I'm on my way to a speedy recovery, but I have missed over 1 month of work, fell behind in my masters program, as well as have gone through a significant amount of physical pain and have lost a significant amount of weight. To be quite honest, I fairly angry with the whole situation because it could have been prevented by a simple post op visit from the orginial physician. So for those of you with legal info please share any reputable contacts, also if you have legal knowledge, do you think I have a case? |
