Increased amount of CHP activity
 

Has anyone noticed the increased amount of CHP these past couple of days? For the past 2 days I have seen at least 13 people get pulled over by CHP.

Stepping up Patrols due to 9/11 maybe??

Haven't seen many more than usual, on highways or on city streets. It is probably for 9/11 like Red and Andrew said.

drove about 100 miles on freeways today and didnt see one chp

drove rin home from cerritos and got tailed by two cars and a motorcycle. god dammit.

i thought they'd be more amused by the riced out civic that was revving next to me desu

they were more amused by the fact that you were ignoring the rice desu

but it is very weird that i didnt see 1 chp or even one on the side of the road giving someone a ticket in the 100+ miles that i drove today desu

I'm in DC right now. and it is pretty crazy how many cops and roads that are closed down today.... wish me luck on my flight home later today.... LOL

yes, they are every where. Saw someone get pulled ove rin front of me going to work and saw someone get pulled over behind me after work. I see around 2-3 driving around when ever I go out.

Depends on where. Stay far away from the 101 fwy North of the 405.

On the way to vegas I saw one of the chippers hiding behind a ******* tree/bush... in his squad car......

Its a combination of a few things: 1. Its right after labor day. 2. 9/11 10th anniversary. 3. Many states PD depts just made committments to step up enforcement of drunk driving laws (this started Sept 1st in the southeast).

I think it's a little more than 9/11. I have seen increased activity in my area and LA County since August 1st.

I've heard many reasons, from it being a bad economy so the state needs money, to new laws, etc. But one reason that has been mentioned by different people more than once is there is a maximum enforcement period in effect, which also goes with the state needing money.

Could be any reason, but I really think California needs the money!

Actually, I recently saw the increase in prices for tickets effective as of Jan 1, 2011. Some of them are pretty ridiculous. As for loud exhaust if you ever get one its not a fix it anymore, its just a straight fat ticket =(.

In which if you ARE below the range, just get it db certified and fight it in court. Done it many times with my 240SX that my exhaust was just shy of 91db. I got it 3 times within 4 years. Afterwards, I get pulled over maybe once a year, but showed him 3 times I fought and won with noise certification, they just say "move along."

I've had good results with this method. I don't give the cop a copy of my insurance card (which nets you a ticket in FLA). I am hands on the wheel ,yessir, nosir, and woila I get a ticket for no insurance instead of a moving violation. Pay 10 bucks and show the clerk of the court my up to date card and no points.

^I think your car gets towed if you don't have proof of insurance here in CA.

^ method doesn't work. I've gotten a ticket for speeding, no insurance, no registration once.

Car got broken into the day before and they emptied out my glove box. Not a very fun experience trying to correct all of that lol.

I noticed a ton more today, be on the lookout gents.

Went camping at Cachuma lake last weekend and got a ticket for 79mph...wtf.

It's almost a guarantee now that Ill get tailed from whichever cop/chp is on the road with me. Its getting really old.

Think that's bad? 210 E & W, 5 CHP PickUps all using Lidar at 7:15 in the morning! AND later that afternoon 2North to 210 Interchange had 2 CHP Vic's usin Lidar! Good thing i was hiding behind a Slow butt Saturn!

Got pulled over on the 405N on the offramp to Brookhurst thursday night. Pulled me over for weaving and speeding. I only did one lane change to get onto the offramp then they said I was going 93 MPH. I was behind a dodge neon going 75 MPH. They ended up giving me a ticket for no front license plate and a verbal speed warning.

i take those freeways everyday...i guess im lucky i rarely see chp on my daily commute
