Angeles Crest Mega Run 2011
 

Hey guys, a few of us were talking about doing an Angeles Crest canyon run so I thought I'd throw a thread together. I was looking at possible routs and there are a few "mini" runs up from Tujunga and down in La Canada. I skipped those for the sake of putting a big run together that I've done in the past with Audi/VW guys (about 60 cars) that's about 116mi and passes by Newcomb's Ranch for some food on the way down. Beautiful drive the entire way.

I'm also thinking of picking out some photo shoot spots and I know of a couple of really nice sweeping turns I can setup my camera by and I can go a little further ahead to setup and wait for you guys to come down.

According to Google it's about a 3 hour run. Talked to Tripe's and came to the conclusion that it's best to leave as early as possible for these runs. Since this is a pretty long run I'd say 6-6:30am meet 7am take off.

Wais, I'm sure some of the 350 guys would be down...please pass along the info since you're the leader of their clan :icon17:

I would do this but I am moving back into school that weekend so I won't be able to. Ugh, it should be a spectacular drive, only second to the Ojai run. :tup:

I'm ok with that but I'm wondering if we should do Sept. 10th just to give people enough time to get on board? I know Drew (40th) was saying the 27th is his b-day weekend too? Christian/BB, would you be able to make Sept. 10th? Trip's we can do one of the mini runs before if you want or if you guys want to just do the 27th I'm good with that too.


Thanks for the heads up on that, haven't been to that starbucks in years...you recommend anything around there with a decent driveway and lot? It's your part of town. I just picked that in case anyone wanted to grab some coffee it would be right there, plus that's where we met years ago for the Audi/VW run.

Check the route on the link I posted. Going up from Big Tunjunga canyon and coming down in La Canada. I guess we can do the opposite but coming down Angeles Crest Hwy should be more fun. It would give us better timing to stop at Newcomb's Ranch for some food too.

Cool, yeah just trying to get some more people to chime in to solidify a date.

Adventurous route....definitely lives up to the mega part

im just tripping out about meeting in tujunga because theres been so much police activity in the past month

but the best place would probably be Vons but the side entrance

If it's a small turnout, there's a 7-11 just about at the start of big tujunga
