Thats great to hear Chris, hope we have good weather.

christian370z 12-17-2010 10:49 PM

Same here, the weather has been atrocious the past couple of days! I just got back from college so I have been doing a wheels off detail of the Z since it is so nasty outside, got to keep 'er clean.

What are you guys doing for Christmas?

Supposedly my mom Santa is getting me a GoProHD for Christmas as well, so that will be another one for this run! Plus I can mount my DroidX on my dash so I'll have 2x angles.

Ha, nice Chris! I actually thought I could initially get away with using my Samsung Vibrant and honestly, it worked surprisingly well but there is an issue with the audio; the mic sensitivity is super high so sound gets distorted the faster you go. Plus, I normally lead the runs so it is better to have the map and navigation on my phone and have a dedicated video camera ala GoPro.

Do you have an idea about where you are going to mount your GoPro?

After seeing Andrews vids from the in car mount, if it's sunny at all you will have a lot of glare on the uphill portion. I'm thinking of doing either the drivers side rear window looking down towards the front fender/wheel or...

Other cool angles would be
- At the base of the door to get that worms eye level
- Roof for normal circuit level
- Inside passenger side rear window looking out drivers side windshield to get road + driver
- Rear window looking back to see the pack (Lead Car)

Just some ideas I'm throwing around depending on how many 'runs' we do, and how many stops we make to D/L the files to a comp or how many SD cards I have...

I have an 8GB in mine and it lasts me the whole run. I went with 8 GB because the guy I bought it from told me that at full charge...the battery and the 8 GB will run out at the same time.

That's really good to know, I need to get a card. Did you just get a regular SD car or one of the faster versions?

I had an extra class 4 or class 6(cant remember) micro SDHC lying around. I just used an SD adapter so it will fit.

Nice, we got some more gopro guys. As for me, I went with a SDHC 16gb Class 4 card. I'm thinking about mounting it on the roof again since I'm in the back.

xdes, have you try the micro card with the adapter on the gopro? I had a problem on my other cam. sometime it likes it and some time it doesn't. Both are still fairly new.

Less than a month to go!!
