I'm up for it. I'll be working on my oil cooler before then.

Oil cooler makes a HUGE difference. When I was pushing it up GMR with Trips on my bumper, I was in 2nd gear most of the time with some 3rd and my oil temps only hit 220 and would not budge from there.

The first time I went in the canyons sans oil cooler, I was not really pushing the car in 3rd and 4th and yet I was hitting 260 degrees.

Hopefully we can push it at ojai and not have issues.

If we do a run in Jan and I can make it, hopefully the lower ambient temps will help keep the oil temps down. Won't be able to get a cooler till March. :shakes head:

Never said I couldn't... But I'm looking to get my laser surgery hopefully End of Jan/Beginning of Feb so I'd be out for maybe 2 weeks for that. So I'd be available before that, or afterwards... and if it's gonna be after, I'll just wait till after March so I can get my oil cooler sways and coils installed. :tup:

I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow morning. Then I'll submit my packet to the clinic for final acceptance, then I can schedule my date to go.

I've been on Google Maps for the better part of my polysci class and it seems like you can easily be able to get by using mostly 3rd and 4th (maybe even 5th) so you can use lower gears and simply keep your momentum up without winding the car out all the time.

Chris: we will plan for the 2nd week of January which should slot in nicely with getting you in on some canyon action before you have your surgery. Tentatively, it would be on the 14th of January.

what about maricopa to lockwood valley rd to forrest hwy to 166 south on 33 south? or continue on to 166 south till it ends on 101? that ones a loooong stretch
