Z West Coast Nationals - Saturday, April 24th
 

Hello Forum Members:

Due to scheduling conflicts with other Z-related events, we have modified the format for the 2010 West Coast Nationals (WCN). We are having a one-day party, called the "Z-Enthusiast Reunion", on Saturday, April 24th. It's a tribute to the first WCN held in 1996. There will a complementary bar-b-q, available dyno runs, our largest "garage sale", and the "informal car show" that always breaks out when a couple of hundred Zs get together. The event will be held at our facility in Orange, Calif. (1139 W. Collins Ave.) Final details will be posted on our website (370Z Source) in a couple of days. Hope to see you here.

We estimate that approximately 75 to 100 Z-Cars will be able to park directly in the Motorsport parking lots.

The front Motorsport lot (shown in the image above from 1997) will be part of the West Coast Nationals Event History display, and will feature first place award winners from previous shows. We expect to fit approximately 25 award winners in the front lot. Many spots are already confirmed, so we ask all former first place award winners who plan to bring their Z, to email president@motorsportauto.com with your Z information as soon as possible, so we can get you on the list. Due to the limited space only first place Z-Car West Coast Nationals award winners can sign up at this time, and must be confirmed in advance. You will need to bring your trophy with you!

For the remaining 50 to 75 display spaces in our lots, around the different parts of the event, they will be first come, first served. Look for the signs and directions as to where to line up on Collins or Enterprise. We hope to begin parking cars around 8:00 or 8:30. The only requirement is that you drive your Z!

For the 100+ parallel parking spaces on Collins Avenue and Enterprise Street, we respectfully ask that these spaces also be reserved for those who bring their Z to the event. We ask that those bringing vehicles other than Z Cars to please park in the surrounding lots and areas, and to please be respectful of our neighbors.

Hard to beat free food (don't forget to sign up), sunshine (weather.com says sunny and 72), a Z Garage sale (which might have just the old stock part you have been looking for, on the cheap), event specials in the showroom, a pictorial history of the first 14 years of the West Coast Nationals, awesome Z-Cars on the dyno, and awesome Z-Cars all over the place (could be hundreds). You're welcome, we hope to see you there. We absolutely appreciate the input. We will be evaluating everything about next year's event over the next few months.

Since you're input is important, please let us know if by "old format" you meant where the show was at the Park (from 2007-2009), or when the cars were on Collins Avenue in front of our shop (from 1998 to 2006)?

is there an entree fee or its open to anyone?? i might check it out....my z is stock looking tho mostly performance mods

This year's event is free to all, and open to all Z cars. The only part with a fee is the Dyno, and as of this post there are just a few time spots left. To sign up for the Dyno, just give us a call at (800)633-6331 asap. If you are coming to the BBQ, you will need to sign up online by noon Friday. To sign up just go to our online store BBQ page: The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: 2010 Motorsport Z-Enthusiast Reunion Bar-B-Que!. After that you'll also need to give us a call.

As far as your 370Z, I'm sure people would love to check it out. Generally there will be more early cars than later cars, and the only other 370Z I know of for certain right now that will be here is the NISMO* model that Nissan is bringing by :tup:

*UPDATE: Make that a 40th Anniversary Model instead! It's easy to be sure now, since it just arrived at our showroom... :rolleyes:

How is this event different from the one which was last weekend at this spot?

This thread was about our 2010 Reunion Event, and other than some different vendors, cars, and displays, wasn't much different. One of the displays, though, was The Countdown, where we announced (like 280z/300zx asked above) that by overwhelming request, we fought and kicked and were able to secure tentative authorization to go back to the street in 2012, where the big show was from 1997 to 2006. Keep watching the website for more details on "Back To The Street", Friday through Sunday, April 27-29, 2012.

Perhaps someone can provide information for the 2013 event.
